because u don't understand it doesn't mean someone else cant.....never was it said when a person speaks in tongue someone beside him must know it....paul said...speak between urself and God if no one is available to interpreted or understands....because it will always be possible someone won't understand around you...

So why would Christ tell you to do it when it's not beneficial to others? If you carefully study the Bible, you would become ashamed when you shout ehbabababa like a he-goat. Paul told the Corinthian disciples who abused the speaking in foreign languages gift to show off in the church to imagine a visitor comes and sees all the members speaking in foreign languages whether he wouldn't think they had gone crazy.

Reminds me of when I started speaking in tongues. I prayed for it for almost a year and when it came, I was so amazed and overwhelmed lol. Nothing like what I was expecting

I really thank God for giving me the gift of speaking in tongues, ever since then, my prayer life has changed. Now I can pray for 3 hours, 4 hours without getting tired.

I think this particular prayer is speaking in the spirit or praying in the spirit which is different from speaking in other tongues- ( had to make the clarification) . When I pray in the spirit, I'm speaking incomprehensible mysteries to God. Incomprehensible because my mind does not understand what I say but it leaves me edified in my spirit and in my body. I literally feel refreshed and hungry for God's word. I pray this type of prayer only to God and not to people. From my observation I think there might be three kinds of praying in the spirit-- 1) praying in other people's language 2) praying in the spirit prophetically which is subject to interpretation 3) praying in the spirit unto God alone

Why only 3 to 4 hour limit? The spirit should have made you an unquenchable prayer house running in perpetuity.

In the bible, speaking in tongues started on the day of pentecost, when the disciples of Jesus or the apostles were baptized with the Holy Ghost. They were speaking in the other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. You can find it in Acts chapter 2. Read it yourself.
