An airplane takes off by accelerating along the runway until it reaches a speed at which the lift generated by its wings exceeds the aircraft's weight, allowing it to become airborne. The exact takeoff speed varies depending on several factors, including the type and size of the aircraft, its weight at takeoff, runway length, and environmental conditions such as temperature and altitude.

For commercial jetliners like the Boeing 737 or Airbus A320, typical takeoff speeds (rotation speeds) can range from around 130 to 180 knots (150 to 210 mph or 240 to 335 km/h). Smaller aircraft, such as turboprops or light jets, have lower takeoff speeds, often between 60 to 110 knots (70 to 125 mph or 110 to 185 km/h).

During the takeoff roll, the pilot gradually increases engine thrust while maintaining directional control using the rudder and ailerons. As the aircraft gains speed, airflow over the wings increases, generating lift.

At the designated rotation speed, the pilot gently pulls back on the control column (stick or yoke), raising the nose of the aircraft. This action increases the angle of attack, further enhancing lift until the aircraft lifts off the ground.

After liftoff, the pilot continues to climb at a predetermined speed and angle, retracting the landing gear and adjusting engine power as necessary. Takeoff is a carefully orchestrated process that balances aerodynamic principles, aircraft performance capabilities, and safety considerations to ensure a smooth transition from ground to flight.

This Rolland Garros international Airport FMEE.
Roland Garros, Réunion Island. Also known as Gillot. In the Commune of Sainte Marie.

Île de La Réunion. Aéroport Roland Garros. You can see from the markings that runway 12 is for takeoffs and runway 14 for landings

The potential for a serious accident exists here. Tower runway surveillance is critical whether you have traffic or not. This runway configuration type demands constant surveillance due to the high potential of a serious accident. The conditions are right before a controllers at the crossing intersection. During night ops , only the active runway should be used. Would suggest sending “ notam “ stating “single runway ops in use from sunset to sunrise to the active rwy in use only “

Nothing compares among aircrafts to the incredible take off roll and speed of the legendary Swan machine - the supersonic transport( SST ) jet - Concorde. Above is a sensational video of the wonder of modern aviation taking of from Nice Airport - France 🇫🇷. Imagine this aircraft reaching an incredible take off speed of 250 knots in just few seconds of acceleration down the runway.

No thanks to the afterburner attached to the 584 Olympus engines that are often ignited by the pilot flying during the heat of acceleration to provide extra boost of thrust power for take off to overcome the drag effects of the unique Delta wings of the aircraft.

The Concorde is the only commercial passenger aircraft to be equipped with after - burners. However, the unfortunate event of 25th July 2000 leading to the first ever crash of a Concorde jet culminated in the events leading to premature retirement of this unique machine that was only operated by the British Airways and Air France 🇫🇷

The cockpit of the Concorde supersonic aircraft was a highly advanced space, designed to be operated by a three-person crew: two pilots and a flight engineer. This iconic aircraft not only exceeded the speed of sound, but doubled it, reaching altitudes of up to 18 kilometers thanks to its special design and presurization.

Concorde revolutionized transatlantic travel by being able to complete the Paris to New York route in just three and a half hours, compared to the eight and a half hours it takes current commercial flights. Its capability for speed and altitude made the Concorde an aeronautical engineering marvel, leaving an indelible legacy in aviation history.

Remember my struggling days. My mentor in the IT world used this as an illustration for me. No matter how much you think your efforts are futile, consistent smart work will generate a lift of elevation in your life when the time is right. Just don't remain in one spot, keep pushing.

The aircraft is such an amazing machine and many people often say that, it is the pinnacle of technology. It also proves that, the mind is capable of whatever it sets its mind on.

Looking at that cockpit, it looks so complex.
If u look at the world today, it looks very complicated too. But God Almighty who made all is so simple in His love for us all...

Jesus Christ loves u and does not want u to perish but to have everlasting life...

Retrace ur steps today and be saved. The table will be turned around to ur own favour in Jesus name amen. Act now and reposition ur life for good.

Shalom!!!

When an aircraft touches the ground safely after flying, unconsciously, the passengers onboard clap their hands to applaud the pilot. Take-off and landing are the most critical parts of flying and the most scary as well when you rule out the air turbulence
