The aircraft's age was a senseless excuse. He just wanted to fly in a more prestigious aircraft. The cost of operating and maintaining an A330 aircraft far outweighs the 737 aircraft previously used. This size of aircraft is used by the presidents of only a few countries who have larger economies. E.g france, germany, USA. Even canadian PM or british pm does not use this kind of aircraft.
