You get it from both points of view. Everyone has decisions to make and resource is scarce. He is only privy to a small percentage of the billings I receive, most of which I turn down while trying to make decisions on which billings are most pertinent, he can't put himself in my shoes not to increase my burden with others needs which are far from my circumference of consideration.

We are talking about a 24 year old boy who I share great-great-great grandfather with, I only took him under my wing because my grandmother adopted him as a child, so he is closer in relation now. He now goes giving my number to a 38 year old on his side of the family (distant distant relative) because he has pressing need, he no respect me at all.

When you dey bill someone you have to put yourself in their shoes, because there are many in need and very few to meet that need. I received a billing I respected so much from a relative because he contacted me 3 weeks from payday and he said bro, I have this pressing need, I would like you to put me in your budget for next month payday. That is instant recognition that the person you are billing has decisions to make and a limited budget, and that guy is not one that sends bills, hardly ever. It was very respectful and understanding that there is a sacrifice being made with every bill.
Izzou, iamoyindamola At least una don hear am from the horse's mouth now.

A 24 year old who is not wise enough to know u don't add more burden to ur benefactor's already packed baggage.

100%. Someone on this forum once contacted me to lament inability to pay his school fees. I helped him out, only for the guy to contact me around Christmas time to ask me to send him Christmas money to use for celebration.

I really don't know what to say about Ibimes matter because the fact of the matter is things are very very hard right now for most people and getting worse. It's easy for us to say Ibimes benefactor should have been wiser but the fact is he may have seen his relative in a truly desperate situation and at the end of his rope with all possible sources of support and assistance tapped out.

At this point you are stuck between pragmatism and humanism. Be pragmatic and survive your issue while watching your relative die or be humanist and cut yourself off.

There may be no easy answers
The issue here is that what people call desperate situation/critical need is relative. Some people will call u for house rent and call it "life and death matter" / "critical need"; while some people will give birth looking for naming ceremony calling it a serious issue which they need ur assistance.

How can a man who had 9 full months to prepare for arrival of his baby call "naming money" a critical need?

Like DeadPresidents said, most people will face their personal financial battle heads-on if they know nobody is available to hand them free money out of compassion.

this is a constant K in every ramifications.. and it's an unending vicious life cycle that no one can do anything about..

As a teenager, I used to be somehow entitled to my benefactors, although not that recalcitrant.. now as an adult, entitlement is my worse trait in any person..
It's the way of life

Lolz.

There are so many people who don't have any uncle , cousin or great uncle anywhere to source for funds from while in school or fighting life battles. The fact that he has an uncle who cares enough to be sorting him is a privilege, which obviously he has misused.

Telling a 24-year-old to enter street and not rely on his abroad uncle's money is not severe.

It's bro
85% of the youths in that age bracket are still in school and doing fraud
10% are doing tech and crypto
5% are entrepreneurs
Telling him to go hustle is harsh in our community/economy
There's nothing for him outside than crime, I am not saying he should be begging for crumbs for life but ibi.me would have engaged him enough to know when he should be left alone
Not using an innocent mistake to push him away

Those ones dey too. But the one I am talking about has not been showing working, I done cut am for my mind since, I just make sure he doesn't starve. My philosophy is in line with the parable of the talents, those who show returns ginger you to invest in them while those who don't show returns, at best you stop them from dying of hunger if they are close relatives. I rather invest in a non relative that shows working than a blood sibling that doesn't show working

Na so our people take be. They don't know when to stop, neither do they consider the person rendering helping hand sef has his own financial responsibilities.

In as much as I believe in helping people with cash, I think at times people need advice too make their head straight. If people mentorship on how to become productive themselves and network.

I can tell u 100% that that the bold is untrue .

There are a whole lot of things a young man can do that are not crime depending on where such person is located. Even in the poorest of communities people are surviving .

good, I'll rather propose a business plan where there is meant to be something for you than beg for crumbs especially when I see you're a big fish 🐟..

My crypto journey today was a business plan I proposed to my benefactor, which he invested heavily in, although I've made some few returns to him, a big chunk of his capital I have yet to repatriate.. although my relationship with him is organic and mutual.. more still that his particular investment in me set my records straight..

Many positives to draw from there.. one been that I've offset from his billing list and now the one that gives back little by little as at when I can..
