Have unanimously released a statement and have written the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
They have rejected the move to join the South East and have told the senator (Ned Nwoko) presenting the bill at the upper chambers that he is on his own

I have said that South East should request for more state from within the Current South East Zone. Anioma can still be created nonetheless if Nigerians approve it as a 7th state of South South or South East region. Anioma is a viable zone and can continue to contribute positively to Nigeria.
The decision to cede Anioma to South East is looking that something that may divide Anioma areas and in fairness, I do not subscribe to that. Ukwuani/Ndokwa sociocultural organisation has been vehemently in their opposition to be ceded to South East region. I suppose they can sit amongst themselves and vote on that decision by themselves. These leaders may not represent the choice of the majority of the Anioma people.
The major import of Anioma creation should be to unite all the Igbo speaking indigenous people in Delta and Edo state

Geopolitical zones are now a non issue after the good people of Delta north has rightfully rejected being lumped to SE region.

Federal Character Commission Act clearly states that geopolitical spread must be upheld in appointments and nominations into federal civil service and appointed positions. Even JAMB applies it under captured zoning for admissions into Tertiary institutions. NYSC also applies it in posting serving Youth Corpers.

That is not what we are talking about. A government policy can use whatever geographical expression the like. Show us anywhere in the constitution of Nigeria recognises South South or South East. This is not about blowing big grammar

The people of Delta north are not against state creation but have made it clear that they don't want to be part of SE geopolitcal zone because they are aware of restructuring plans to see Nigeria return to regions using the existing geopolitical zones as a template.

The gidgiddy is trying to down play geopolitcal zones because he knows that the very reason the people of Delta north are against zoning to the SE is because they are very wary of falling into the SE zone .

The law on state creation has already provided that if certain people want to remain in their state, rather than create a new State, they can vote against it during referendum. People don't know that the constitution of Nigeria says referendum must be conducted before a new State can be created
