Mr. Man AD as political party never merged with any party, it was the Tinubu's faction that merged with JP and ACP, just the same way factional AGPA merged with ACN, ANPP, CPC and nPDP. Till date is APGA and PDP not still in existence? The AD as at 2007 still fielded candidates. He only grounded the party when he could not take full control of the party. Before the death of late Dr. Odumakin, the spokesman of Afenifere, always complaining that Tinubu betrayed Afenifere and they will never forgive him because he left the party scattered and he also betrayed them on the choice of the AD flag bearer.

If you don't know history go and read again, Asiwaju formed AC which later rebranded as ACN just like APP to ANPP. AC and ACN are the same party. He was in SDP in 1992 during the 2 party era of SDP and NRC, and was elected as a senator with the highest vote in Nigeria.

Why are you people like lying, Tinubu was never a founding member of AD. Check in the poster the founding members of AD. It was after the party had been formed that Bola Ige called Tinubu from exile to come and contest for Lagos governorship and at that he still stabbed him when time came to vote for AD presidential candidate.
No doubt Tinubu later became financial member of the party but never a founding member.

The only time Tinubu left a political party for another one was when he and other leaders of the party decided to FORM another party - and that was from AD to AC, they later renamed AC to ACN to reflect national status and ACN to APC was a merger.

Actually, it wasn't that Tinubu left any party but the Adebisi Akande led Faction of the AD was in court with the other AD Faction led by Mojisoluwa Akinfewa, which was been sponsored by Obasanjo and the PDP.

The Akande led Faction resigned en mass from AD and re-registered their faction under a new name ,AC which was later renamed ACN, like you rightly said.

It wasn't the way you put it. The Akande's faction merged with JP and ACP through the help of Atiku. That was why Atiku said Tinubu own him on his political journey. I think the issue came up less than two months ago.
