I am based in Lagos. I want to start a business centre, need advise and guidelines. The business centre will focus on computer training and photocopy/typesetting, exam registration etc. I want to start small.

I know I will need computers, printers, photocopying machine etc. Please help me with a full list of what I will need.
Should I buy new items or fairly used?
Where get them the items that won't give me problem.
Current cost of items.
Others things I may need.

Don't buy photo copier fairly o. The amount you will spend on repairs will exhaust you


Before buying a computer printer make sure you consult well and ask for the ones that needs cheap refills as some use inks whose replacement are pricey


Make sure you add passport photograph system to your biz

And make sure your PCS have at least 16gb RAM for speed. If your pc is slow because you like to save money customers won't return when you keep wasting their time using a slow PC

Thanks again. Would you advice going for fairly used PCs or new? Desktops or laptops? Where is the best place to buy these items? I know of computer village but the news or reviews from that market is not too good.

There are some.modern day PCS. It is a single CPU. and can be connected to like five to ten screens. Just get that single CPU unit. Make sure the RAM is high. Then you can connect it to even ten flat screens as much as you like. I am not too sound on this as I made the research a long time ago. Speak with people sha and do your research


Computer village can be irritating. But that's the place to go to o

1. In all you do, chosing the right location is crucial for this business.

You're within or around a university, polytechnic, college of education, local government secretariat, or state government secretariat. That's where you can get good ROI.

2. Be know about everything and all things. Seek knowledge because people will come to you for solutions. That will be your selling point.

This a price estimate someone gave in this space in 2015. Can anyone hrlp me with the current price? Thanks.

1- Desktop 2- (15,000-18,000 each)
2- UPS- 1200VA costs ₦15,500 while 1500V costs ₦18,000
3. Laptop. Should I go for desktops or laptops?
3- Printer/Scanner- (3 in 1 ) ₦12,000
4- Colored printer (Some folks suggest laser jet should be used for black and white while deskjet/inkjet printers should be used for colored printing)
5- Photocopier - 40,000-45,000
6- laminator- 7,500
7- spiral binder? not sure of the price.
8- Thumb printer? No idea.
9- Generator- 45,000 Can my 1kva generator work for this?
