Madam Aladura, Why comparing Nigeria to UK in terms of this present Nigeria problem. Firstly, if you earn in UK pounds, it's not a big deal cos if you check the average weekly wages in UK compare to Nigeria weekly or let's say monthly wages in retrospect to the 50 pound she claimed to have paid in 2 weeks for gas and electricity. Nigeria own is higher as compared to the weekly wages or better put it, monthly wages. Today, N 2,300 =1 Pound. The difference is damn too high in comparison. Nigerian are really suffering. The other time, a lady residing in UK and coming to Nigeria for this last Sallah, went to do shopping of fresh tomatoes and fresh pepper in UK to bring to Nigeria because when she asked her relatives back in Nigeria the price of those items, buying in UK was much more cheaper. |

You can just float market with food how about the farmers ! That produced food with high cost . Reduce draconian spending and making farming affordable , cheap . Make loans/grant available so it’s attractive for people to return to farming. Invest in tools for them to rent . Cultivate an attitude of local items first. We are suppose to be a manufacturing economy like China. Where we can produce materials cheaper than China and sell to US and other places not importing stuff from China. |

wallrichy:They must have inflated the price in Nigeria . I get your premise but when you consider cost of travel , custom clearing and transportation. No way getting peppers from UK beats locally |

Grandma, thou it's good that you took the bold step to remind Tinubu his responsibilities to Nigerians but if you pay for electricity and gas in UK you will fully enjoy their services, but here in naija if you pay for such and you enjoy the service for just 4 hours consider yourself lucky, this you must have experience several times at your base in lekki. ogododo: |

Hello Ricky, Remember that she didn't travel cos of buying and bringing those items. It's an opportunity, either she buys or not, she's still going to travel to meet her family to celebrate the Salah with them. Anyway, I understand you but you don't pay anything if it's a little quantity and not for commercial, if it's your personal items. I have done the same severally when traveling out of Nigeria and I need to pick such things for my family abroad. Often I buy grounded melon, grinded pepper with Cray fish, small beans, Ogbono, stock fish and some food stuff that I don't even know their names and Nigeria custom just check and some will jokingly say, Oga you dey enjoy o, abeg make your brother enjoy too o before you go. It's free as long as it's small quantity and even when you get to POD, the custom over there will do the same and check if it's a ban items or if it's harzardous, spoilt etc.....but you don't pay anything except if it's excess. Regards bros rickleye: |

Lol, at her base in Lekki! You are damn funny my brother. You know one thing about most people in Nija, they quickly forget things so easily when they step into the western country. It's so painful that most of us don't relate properly to situation in Nigeria especially after experiencing good living for some time. That's 50 pounds ( N116k) she's talking about is the salary of a top manager in some company in Nigeria for a month. A whole month of hard work on top of 116k, the 50pound equivalent and she's talking nonsense....... mipeesoft: |

I was happy when she started but end up disappointed. Madam , does it mean that in your place, one collapses whenever complete truths are told ??This has been they way complete truths have been kept till Nigeria became a massive mess today |

Please, does it make sense if market would be flooded with food and the garri dealers, under the watchful eyes of iyalojas would be fixing prices ? If you sell less, they will sanction you. Without price regulations, it makes no sense. Ordinary Nigerians are more wicked to themselves than their wicked political leaders |

Basicend:Iya Adura is (on the contrary) very accessible, humble, generous and jovial. Her Church in Lekki is an haven for the less privileged. Even as an human being with so much pressure from so many people (that she is not related to) she attends to (mostly hunger and house rent) I don't think that kind of advice is bad. Hunger is in the land. The Government must implement a more concrete shock absorbing policy to cushion the state of it's citizenry.
