MelesZanawi:
Your mothers in Abia state are the least paid in this country. They are under hard Labour and being owed salaries.
Workers in Damaturu and Funtua earn higher than those unfortunate ones in Abia.
But Tinubu is your problem.
And yet we have more beggars and indigent people AKA Almajiris in Damaturu and Funtua. And going by your claim, one would expect Abia State to be the headquarters of indigent people in Nigeria

Nigeria’s Hunger Crisis: A Call to Action for Tinubu’s Clueless Administration

Nigeria, the giant of Africa, stands tall with a wealth of resources and a vibrant population. Yet, paradoxically, it harbors the highest number of hungry people on the continent. This troubling reality is not just a statistic; it’s a harsh indictment of leadership failure and misplaced priorities.

How did we get here? How did a nation blessed with fertile lands, abundant natural resources, and resilient people become the poster child for hunger? The answer lies in a toxic cocktail of poor governance, corruption, and a chronic disconnect between the rulers and the ruled.

A Broken System

Under the administration of President Bola Tinubu, we have witnessed policies that seem designed to serve the elites while the common Nigerian is left to fend for themselves. The promise of “renewed hope” has turned into a mirage for the average citizen. The government’s focus has been on superficial reforms that fail to address the root causes of poverty and hunger. It’s like trying to cure malaria with paracetamol - the symptoms may be masked temporarily, but the disease rages on.

Misplaced Priorities

While politicians dine on lavish banquets, millions of Nigerians struggle to find their next meal. The agricultural sector, once the backbone of our economy, has been neglected. Farmers are left without support, facing threats from insecurity, climate change, and lack of infrastructure. Instead of investing in sustainable agriculture, the government squanders resources on vanity projects and bailouts for failing businesses owned by their cronies.

The Impact of Corruption

Corruption is the cancer eating away at the soul of our nation. Funds meant for development are siphoned off by greedy officials, leaving crumbs for the masses. It’s no surprise that Nigeria’s hunger crisis has worsened when the little resources we have are embezzled. The Tinubu administration must understand that you can’t plant corn and harvest yam. If the seeds of corruption are sown, the fruits of poverty and hunger are inevitable.

A Call for Accountability

President Tinubu, it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. The ordinary Nigerian is not asking for the moon; we just want a fair shot at a decent life. Your administration must shift its focus from serving the privileged few to uplifting the majority. Invest in agriculture, create jobs, and provide a safety net for the vulnerable. If you fail to address these issues, history will remember you not as a leader, but as a puppet of the elites.

Nigerians, let’s hold our leaders accountable. We deserve better than empty promises and clueless governance. We must demand policies that prioritize our well-being over the interests of the rich and powerful. It’s time to put an end to the era of suffering in the land of plenty. Let’s ensure that no Nigerian goes to bed hungry again.

In the words of our elders, “A hungry man is an angry man.” The Tinubu administration must heed this wisdom and act decisively. The time for empty rhetoric is over; the time for action is now. Nigeria’s future depends on it.
...so there is more hunger in Nigeria than Somalia?

Our leaders are more concerned about citizens protesting than resolving the issue that's causing the agitation which is widespread hardship and hunger.

Like somebody said when Nigerians are ready they will know what to do.

It will shock you that even the yorubas will lead this protest when the veil of tribalism is off their faces. Until then let's keep debating whether to protest or not.

A better comparison would be to calculate the percentage of hungry people against the total population for each country, instead of comparing a country of 250 million people against another with less than 80 million. With your flawed analysis, you can as well compare the "number" of hungry people in china against Benin Republic undecided

Nigeria comes first because ethno-religious bigots place Islam and ethnicity first before they choose who will preside over Nigeria. Mass hunger is the outcome. Unfortunately, the obsolete mindset of the ethno-religious bigots of Nigeria affects all in Nigeria.

Africans are also very lazy. They want to join the west in the high tables but they hate the process. You have land go and farm this generations like soft work.

The west are advance in technology so they can manage soft life. We are very backward instead of choosing hard life we are opting for soft. Soft work keee una. Una go protest tire.

Hemanwel:
Nigeria being the number one on this list is a classical case of a wealthy man who has many children but unable to feed them
So you dont know that the population of Nigeria is almost double that of the next country on the list.

If you are smart enough, you would have realized that having a larger population would also mean having a larger population of hungry people as well as rich and well feed people.

This is a typical case of missusing data to say what you want to say.

A more objective analysis would have used percentage instead of raw numbers.
