They should sustain it. And quickly pass it law as they did the new national anthem. Actually, half of that should be their actual salary.. Any amount any public servants (i.e elected officials or appointed by elected officials) earnings should be slash half to reflect their actual pay check. Those positions are not meant to enriched themselves but rather to serve the public.

The number one problem of Nigerians is high level illiteracy. By high level illiteracy, I mean the illiteracy of those that actually went to school.
Now, if such a social problem exists, then you can imagine the illiteracy of those that never went to school at all.
Nigeria is in for a long thing.
Re: House Of Reps Members Slash Salaries By 50% by jackmrandy: 3:09pm On Jul 18, 2024
they slash or not, come that we are all trooping out , they will hear it out that day. Unlike the first one that yielded no result, what happened in Kenya is just small. Nigeria Politicians will hear it hot this time around.

Idiots! Allowance is the major source of their income.

These idiots always insulting our intelligence.

Do they think most Nigerians are dumb like babablu bulabu?
Your choice of word was wrong cos I doubt if you as a person can slash your salary not to talk of your allowances in order to fight hunger in the nation. You should accept this as a welcome development instead of you castigating these folks

It will affect their allowance also since their allowance is (basic salary × some percentage)

For instance, constituency allowance is 200% of basic salary

Re: House Of Reps Members Slash Salaries By 50% by Ladech(m): 3:17pm On Jul 18, 2024
I feel very sorry for you if you fall for this? grin grin grin

That salary may not be up to 10% of all their allowances.

Why not let's start with a senator earning the same thing a teacher is earning.

Cut down on your allowances not salary. Their salary is not up to 10% of their allowance.
They collect 30m in allowance monthly. They're just playing on our intelligence

National assembly makes no profit. So it is ridiculous to say I won't slash my salary.
I don't work for something that doesn't generate profit.
Nigeria is wasting money on National assembly, it should be scrapped to save cost of governance.
