oga there is currently no fg staff collecting 30k...I have friends in ippis..in my establishment I also have access to our monthly payroll...the least entry lvl of 1 step 1 has since been abolished...this is a known fact..let's discuss other matter

The minimum is 70k, no employee is mandated to increase your salary if you are already earning above that.

I don't think so because the state government i used to work then the higher your ranking in the civil service the lesser the percentage it is goin 2 b increased by its only the lower income earners that had d highest raise for example my PS was earning over 400,000 naira in month as a d highest rank as the (P.S)legal officer I heard his salary only went up by 6000 naira ie like 406k because as the highest rank it was only those people that had least rank that had d went up d highest ie from 18k to 30k minimum wage www.cattylove.com

Wage award is 35k. Take home based on the 30k minimum wage is 42k. That is what the least worker was earning until today.

Don’t you get it, you are already earning above it as per government regulations. The law doesn’t mandate i pay you more than that. Any increase is cuz i “feel” like giving it to you.

Exactly. I noticed this when minimum wage was increased to 30k. A friend of mine who works in a Federal Hospital told me that the increment on his salary was less than 30%.

I believe they have a template they use in making the necessary adjustments.

that’s because The former wage was 19k and it increased to 30k which is not up to 100 percent.

The correct thing is that there will be adjustment to every other salary as a result of the least paid person getting a minimum of 70k. This is called consequential adjustment. The reason for this is that the salary of the next rank must be higher than the salary of the previous rank. So, if you increase the least rank salary to 70k, 70k is greater than the original salary of the next rank, so you have to increase that salary, which makes you increase that of the next, and then the next, etc. You have to note that for the government and organized private sector, there are predetermined gaps between salaries based on ranks that has to be maintained. It is in keeping with the maintenance of that gap between ranks that ensures an all salaries get increased.

Where;
a = Present Salary
b = New Minimum Wage
c = Previous Minimum Wage
x = New Salary

For Example:

Assume Your Salary (Income) is N52,000

Let's calculate

i.e.

a = Present Salary = N52,000

b = New Minimum Wage = N70,000

c = Previous Minimum Wage = N30,000

x = New Salary = ?

Formula:

x = (a * b) ÷ c

X = (52,000 * 70,000) ÷ 30,000

X = 3,640,000,000 ÷ 30,000

X = N121,300.

Very few establishmentd use CONRAISS salary structure. Majority use COMPSS where level 1 step 1 is 30k
