“These international trading arms are non-value adding middlemen who sit abroad and earn margin from crude being produced and consumed in Nigeria. They are not bound by Nigerian laws and do not pay tax in Nigeria on the unjustifiable margin they earn.Just imagine the kind of nonsense we allow to go on in our country. You don't try this in another country. |

Umuinyioku:Please explain what do you mean by Republican in nature This is another myth of self deception The Igbos were a slave owning and slave dealing people help me understand how that chimes with being Republican Ibo women were not allowed to inherit land and had no say in governance The truth is what you choose to see about yourself is very different from how others see you That is the fundamental thing about you an it bears repeating HOW YOU CHOOSE TO SEE YOURSELF IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM HOW OTH3RS SEE YOU you are a people that can be ruled by any body that has money A person with money speaks before elders in your community that is how others see you Any person without money has no say There is nothing Republican about that |

NOETHNICITY:You are right ooo If Dangote is Igbo they will have started playing victim and exhibiting persecutor delusion. Telling us how FG hate their progress. |

bet9ja:^^^ Good question. Very good question! This is one of those questions that more Nigerians should ask. Questions like "why are Nigerian federal lawmakers not being paid minimum wage and minimum wage only?"...or "why does Nigeria need a bicameral legislature?"...or "why do Nigerian federal lawmakers have to sit full time?", etc. Instead of performing their constitutional responsibilities of checking Executive excess, our lawmakers are just one big, bulbous rubber stamp. I usually don't criticize the physical appearance of others (after all, I'm no Greek god myself) but I couldn't help noticing how most of our recent senate presidents are corpulent men with puffy, swollen faces - first Ahmed Lawan and now Godswill Akpabio. They are there to eat, full stop. They do all this because We the People, let them. ![]() |

Gajagojo:I was thinking that we had the full right to our oil deposits. It's like the iocs own everything |

engrchykae:Who is this we you people keep talking about Help me understand Is Dangiote WE ? Dangote's refinery is HIS refinery not our refinery I get frustrated listening to rubbish like this Is Dangote not mining limestone and making cement? This we that you refer to Do WE have full rights to the cement Dangote produces? Why is oil different Even if we have full rights to oilWEare not Dangote Dangote is not US The oil belongs to the government and the IOCs THEY SIGNED A DEAL PRODUCE THE oil ANDSELLTO THE HIGHEST BIDDER PAY US 60% AND PAY TAX So what is the problem? I really do not get it is the government not getting paid for the oil. Dangote can buy from them if he likes but he should stop looking for discount/ subsidy because the oil companies will not pay for that They willdeduct any discount from what they pay which means that government is subsidizing Dangote refinery |

DMerciful:Everything is about tribalism and victim mentality to you. If not Obi then no one else. That's the motive of all your anti-Tinubu comments. |

Gajagojo:Lol You are outside the ambit of Igbo cultural heritage. You need to investigate more based on your allegations for enlightenment. Republicanism in Igbo Land connotes freedom and ability to do things without interference and apprehension within the purview of acceptable moral standard. You won't understand because of primordial mindset and fable tales about Igbo ethnicity. |
| Re: IOCs Selling Crude At $4 Per Barrel Above Market Price — Dangote by Gajagojo: 11:17am On Jul 19, 2024 |
Umuinyioku:Republicanism is not an Ibo word You cannot make it mean whatever you want it to mean Ibo society is traditionally misogynistic, and very much rooted in slavery. If you don't know inquire Slavery even for debtors who cannot pay debts and that includes brothers for whom siblings have paid bride price. With a brother acquiring the offspring of such marriages You can tell yourselves whatever you like to feel goo but republicanism has a meaning that is very far from traditional Ibo society Ibo society is traditionally diverse depending on whether you are in Nnewi, Owerri , Aba or Oguta Nut in Anambra that we know It is Oligarchic in nature where rich men dominate society with women having no say No society that excludes women and denies them the right to inherit their father's property can claim to be republican |

Gajagojo:Who told you women are being denied their rights in Igbo Land? Do you know better than many of us s honed and raised in East? Such negative contraception has been the misplaced narrative of Igbos by outsiders like you. Go closer and find out the Truth than relying on revisionism. |

Umuinyioku:The Supreme Court of Nigeria had to strike down the barbaric practice https://www.vanguardngr.com/2020/08/supreme-courts-decision-on-female-inheritance-divides-igbo/ That is why I say you are deceiving yourselves The way you choose to see yourselves is very different from reality |

DMerciful:I don't know ooo. Tell me something. So, Tinubu is fighting everybody now. Does that not mean that Tinubu will lose the next election and Obi will be installed in 2027 ? If so, may your delusions continue... may you labour in vain again in 2027.... |

Because you're focusing on Obi all the time, you've refused to read the handwritings on the wall regarding the Dangote refinery. Yeye dey smell Max24: |

DMerciful:All your past predictions about Tinubu failed. You Obidients told us Tinubu will not make it through APC primaries, then through the elections, then he won't be sworn in , then so many others including this one you are carrying about Dangote. Many of your seniors in the same trade have been run down by Tinubu. Where is Successmatters today? Again my advice to you as a brother is that you should not continue to labour in vain. |
