Much as black America and the sane world would love to see a Kamala Harris presidential ticket, the redneck vote will hand Donald Trump a massive victory over Kamala Harris purely on account of her gender and race, and with complete disregard for her ability to serve as a good president of the USA.

Gender will definitely play a role in this...

But the ultimate success or failure in her quest will be determined by various other factors including her campaign strategy, policy position, voter engagement and fund raising - although she has a strong fundraising base but she might struggle to match trump's.

Also and most importantly I feel this might have come too suddenly and might have caught the democrats off guard.

This will definitely affect their ability to find a common ground and unite solidly behind her to put up a formidable front against Trump!

Generally speaking attorneys make superb heads of state because they are masters of negotiation and compromise whose career choice requires an encyclopedic understanding of the letter of the law. Kamala Harris was a courtroom prosecuting attorney for many years during which she gained the respect of her peers, and as such it is widely believed that she would make a good president.

That's an easier run for Trump then provided he doesn't run his mouth. The US isn't ready across the major voting demographics to have a woman, especially coloured, as president. Also note Trump's VP candidate is a much younger and well-refined White man whose wife is Indian.
