In the olden days, all Yoruba families had ifa at home and everybody was learned in ifa to a reasonable degree. Up till today, it is normal parlance for even kids to say ko difa or o difa to establish the right standing of an action. It is a spill over from the now dithering era of academic spirituality when God was described as a gentleman and good father and not as a weirdo burning people in hell for the unbelief of ridiculous tales. Ifa is a spirit communication apparatus which every human being must have at home. Imagine your food being poisoned and your spirit struggling to let you know. This is why you should have ifa at home. When you have ifa is when you are a fully conscious human being.

Ibadan was the Yoruba capital and they never fought with Britain. Yes Ijebu was defeated by an alliance between Ibadan and Britain and a resistance by Ilorin was stopped by Britain after the Kiriji war.

Ibadan was the Yoruba capital and the opening up of ijebu for trade was paramount in their mind as it was in the mind of Britain. Oyo was the second headquarter of ibadan and it was not bombed by Britain as you said. The only Oyo nation that gave Britain problem was Ilorin and what they said was that they signed a trade agreement and not a protection agreement with Britain. Oyo ile was burnt down by ilorin at a point and the burning down gave rise to the high population of many of the Oyo cities in the south of Nigeria

I maintain that oyo was bombed,check your records well,Britain defeated ijebu with its west African frontier soldiers mostly from the Caribbean, Hausa and sierraleonian with few Ibadan soldiers.
