The Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and EconomieStimulus(NG-CARES) Programme now renamed Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) is a World Bank-supported intervention with a credit portfolio of 750 million US Dollars. The Programme Development Objective is "To expand access to livelihood support and food security services and grants for poor and vulnerable households and firms.

NG-CARES is a Programme for Results (PforR) Intervention where States
and FCT invest theirresources, produceresultsinlinewith agreed protocols and get reimbursed by the Federal Government after an Independent Verification Exercise.

The Federal Government has reimbursed 34 States and FCT the sum of Four Hundred and Thirty-Eight Billion, Three Hundred and Sixty-Eight Million, Nine Hundred and Fifteen Thousand, Thirty Naira and Twenty-Four Kobo (N438,368,915,030.24) after the Third Independent Verification Assessment.

Let me use this opportunity to commend Mr. President for the various reforms introduced by his Administration which have enabled States and FCT to invest massively in NG-CARE thereby producing this outstanding result.

Also, worthy of commendation are the State Governors and Honourable Minister, FCT for their commitment to investing in and building resilience among poor and vulnerable Nigerians using the NG-CARES Programme.

NG-CARES is one of the social Protection Programme implemented in the tents of the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of Mr. President and a cornerstone economic resilience and sustainability among the poor and vulnerable in underserved communities in Nigeria.

What I just want to know is what rational did they use to give Zamfara 49billion and Ogun state 2 billion?

Below is their reason. Zamfara government don go assemble IDP people use scam FG of 49billion equating that to having more vulnerable Nigerians.

If you reward stuff like this, even the governor will invest more money in banditry so they can continue to get massive money like this.

In 2023, Zamfara got 119bn for the total FAAC allocation for the year of 2023, this amount of 49billion is almost 40%+ of their allocation, so tell me why Zamfara governor himself won’t support banditry and IDP if he can be sure of half of his yearly IGR.

The funds were disbursed based on the results achieved by the States and FCT in their efforts at supporting poor and vulnerable Nigerians under the NG-CARES programme.

No nothing wrong with the FG but those northern states quoting money they didn't spend. If the money is for health stuffs there shouldn't have been any Almajaris in any part of Northern Nigerians.

Are they not the same quoting billions for Hajj, Ramadan foods. Structures to cross check such bogus amount are not properly in place in Nigeria

How do you want FG to cross check if there are no agency over sighting that ?

Some of those attacks on government institutions, na the projects they spent the money on...You know what I mean

Each state was reimbursed what they initially spent on the vulnerables in their respective states after an independent verification. Kudos to FG.

I think Zamfara governor just gamed them. Maybe he found a cheat code coz how do we explain the disparity of 49billion and 2billion.

Besides Anambra per capita income is stable and poverty level very low. It's assumed they didn't suffer much from the pandemic

What if the parameters is insecurity level or poverty level? Should we still question the govs for "performing poorly"?
