[quote author=haslaw post=131100064]Same Pandora de Obi's boys who have been attacking Dangote for many years. No one hated Dangote's refinery as much as IP0B/0BNIDIENTS. Bitter Obi is only trying to make it look like he is fighting for Dangote so that northerners will think he loves them and it will never work because northerners can still remember how Obi deported their brothers from Anambra while he was governor.[/quot Tinubu kept mute all the while Fulani herdsmen were terrorizing the whole of South West, killing and raping young girls/mothers/grandmas and destroying farm lands because he wanted to become the President. Peter Obi is not a coward, he says what he feels and know is right. |

Vidamia:Does Nigeria have anything to gain from the failure of the refinery? This refinery was meant to provide framework for potential investors in the sector. The current situation is enough red flag for any sane investor. Make na dey look beyond politics when important subjects like these are being discussed |

The only way refineries can work is if fuel is sold at a price marketers set. Not the government setting it |

All government officials from federal to state governments, who are wasting our hard earned resource traveling abroad looking for investors should all be jailed. How can you go overseas looking for investors, but at the same time you are sabotaging the local ones, do they think that investors are like them who steal money and we not care where and how they spend or will invest. Though as some had lend their views, that the man himself is part of our economic saboteur, but that not outstanding, the man has done well in this matter and no one should frustrate him. What surprised me most was the silence of mr president who doubles as senior minister of petroleum, does him not know the economic implication of his action. Politicians have failed us in African countries and our democracy is not working, that is why some citizens of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger were jubilating, when the so called democratic elected government were dethroned, I think this is part of what makes former president Obasanjo to call for African own democracy, because this Western own is unfavourable to masses but only the politicians taking care of themselves. |

I totally disagree with Peter Obi on this. Why is it now that the richest man in Africa is lamenting, groaning, granting media interview and press release? I expected him to have done that under president buhari regime but he did not because the president was a northerner and he was enjoying preferential treatment and undercover enjoying our national treasure with the so called governor of CBN and the presendency while our economy was deteriorating. The preferential treatment is no more there under a new government. He has been placed on a level ground with all other business associates operating in the country and he is complaining. The richest man in Africa where there is an abject poverty in his country. He is a business man and trying to make an impact in the global economy, to maintain his status at the expenses of the citizens. How much is he selling a bag of cement? President buhari closed all border to facilitate and encourage local production and consumption of local produced goods to grow our economy, not a bad idea anyway but for who? Who dominates the major sectors of the economy? These are the questions we need to ask ourselves! Despite all these, we are still paying more to buy all these things. President Tinubu came into the picture with a new policies not favorable to him such as allowing importation, opening of borders to allow the inflow of consumable items with tax relief to ease the pressure of high cost of goods in the country, working so hard to revive our national treasures, to bring our refineries back to operations, reviving the agricultural sectors and here is the man complaining because he does not like competition. He want to be a sole supplier of everything, only HIM want to dominates Nigerian Economy which cannot happen and not good for a perfect economy The Era of him operating under a monopolistic competition is gone. He should stop complaining pls. |

I respectfully disagree with Obi on this issue. Dangote is not fighting for us, he's fighting for his own pocket as usual. Dangote wants to be the sole supplier of Fuel in Nigeria and we know his history. What is the price of cement? FG has been so supportive of Dangote since 1999 to the detriment of other businesses. If the rumours are true and Tinubu doesn't want Dangote to be the only player in the downstream, then I stand with Tinubu on this matter. Let's calm down and reason. |

Dangote wanted to monopolised oil refinery and insisted that Tinubu should revoke all the licences issued to other entrepreneurs to import petrol. Forex was allocated to him even less than official market rate by Elemi Emere but he has the guts to say the FG didn't assist him in anyway. The idiot was even selling the Forex to his aboki friends. |

I stand with PO on this stance 1000%! Decerning citizens are aware of the issues at play. The NNPCL and its teeming economic marauders backed by a vicious cabal of very powerful individuals and their foreign collaborators see the coming on stream of the Dangote Refinery as a direct threat to the source of their legalized robbery. For decades, Nigeria's 4 oil refineries have been left to rot despite amounts running into several billions of dollars being spent as Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) and several "workers" receiving salaries for doing practically nothing. As far back as 2016, a bewildered nation was told by a Minister of State, Petroleum, Ibe Kachukwu, that it was cheaper to import petroleum products than to do so domestically. Importation is the real deal for the economic saboteurs! Now, Dangote Refinery is coming to pose a threat to the status quo. They won't take that without a fight! Now, it's Operation Destroy Dangote Refinery (ODDR)! Nigerians must resist these unpatriotic, shady and callous individuals. #SaveDangoteRefinery @hotseat |

Dangote is being supported . The multi million dollars investment of our money in it. The problem is when the other refineries come into operation what will be left for Dangote. 2. Buhari and his gang sold our oil which he needs for all the loans they collected. Dangote does not do business like this. The competition won't help and he has to import oil. How can he make his killing profits like in the cement business. |

jjflyj11:You be mumu, how many politician or even billions have been able to build factories? Dangote saw Nigerian problem and he provide solution to it by building a world class refinery. states and individual have been given waver to build refineries, generate and distribute electricity, how many Governors are even keying to that investment now? The answers is known but they are collecting allocation every month ending it in building HOTELS and buy properties abroad. |

jjflyj11:Dangote's money belongs to Dangote and it's his sole prerogative to spend it however he pleases. He doesnt owe anyone any kobo. That being said, Dangote's refinery success isnt about the man Dangote; it's rather about Nigeria's economic liberation. Even if Dangote chooses to be greedy and sells fuel for N2000 and becomes a dollar trillionaire, the success of that refinery would still have monumental positive impact on Nigeria's economy. In otherwords, that refinery working would positively impact the life of every Nigerian.l, not just Dangote. |

Can we say this about cement and other products of his ? Cement is being use as hardship tool on Nigerian and no one is talking or doing anything about it . Now Someone wants to hold the MAIN Nigeria economy in his fold and control Nigeria Economy . I rest my case |

haslaw:Just imagine this one trying so hard to reduce this to a tribal / political issue. Spits! Anyone with the slightest whiff of patriotism and economic sense understands that the success of Dangote refinery would greatly help Nigeria's economy. OBI is clearly not the unpatriotic greedy political charlatan that you try to portray him as. Obi has always been a supporter of the Dangote refinery project even before his presidential declaration. |

haslaw:Obi and his obidients have no allegiance to anyone. He jumps on any trend like a skit maker just to keep in the limelight. As long as that trend will negatively affect the government, he'll gladly jump on it. Let say the federal government reveals plans to give Dangote Refinery tax cuts and other incentives as support today, it's the same Obi that'll still come out and question why the government is using tax payers money to support a private organisation. That guy is a snake. |
