There is simply a state sponsored agenda to create distractions and disunity...

The Igbos are simply an easy target due to various reasons, some of which they actually brought upon themselves.

However, everyone knows that Igbos has so much investments in the SW that they are the last people that want any sort of destabilisation or violence in Nigeria because they have the most to lose.

Most Igbos have properties worth hundreds of millions of Naira, have no qualms marrying indigenes of where they reside and generally want to live a good life. But some people want to twist the narrative so that they can distract from the failure of governance.

Ironically, the Hausas have been involved in more fights and destruction of properties in host communities in the SW.

I don’t think you should include every ‘average Yoruba man’….and i equally don’t think it’s a question of ‘envy’! Rather, i think it has more to do with feelings of inadequacy and fear of competition in politics, governance and business! And when there’s this desire to live up to the hype that you’re ‘the most sophisticated, educated, advanced and entrepreneurial ethnicity in Nigeria, naturally you’d want to sabotage, demarket or deride the ethnicity you see as ‘the competition’. These negative feelings filter down from the national level to who controls politics, governance and business in Lagos, and this is where this anti-Igbo sentiment gets even more toxic and dangerous! So going by this explanation, it stands to reason that it’s not ‘the average Yoruba man’ that’s got it in for Ndigbo, rather it’s a select group of acolytes and adherents of the Tinubu school of politics and business!

The average Yoruba man hasn’t really got time for that kind of targeted hate, but is liable to get caught up in it if he’s caught in the Tinubu web of ethnic-baiting and emilokan politics!

Any particular reason you lot are still clinging on to ‘one Nigeria’ like your life depends on it!? One would have thought that since you’re this ‘great and accomplished’ that you wouldn’t mind going it on your own! They are. This was from a twitter space yesterday with about 1,000 of them. Atleast 900 have changed their twitter display picture to that of the protest.
