I really don't understand how a neighbor will pack the clothes her daughter used while she was few months old for my new baby to wear perhaps out of good will but to me I can never wear a used clothes for my new baby. It's somehow odd and I politely turned it down.

Some of the baby clothes you buy from the market are not brand new. But some sellers will make you believe it is.

You're also saying your child will never wear okrika. It's commendable especially in this sweet economy.
The okrika my mum gifted me were more durable than the new clothes I bought in the market and my 2nd is wearing some of them now.

Babies outgrow their clothes very quickly so used baby clothes are almost new. They are also better because the toxins and chemicals that were used to bleach and dye them have been reduced with several washing cycles. And wearing used clothes reduces pollution and waste of water. Your choice!
