News have been flying around about Sowore's upcoming protest in August. Most of it have been people cautioning against it and there's also been a warning from the United Nation's Department of Safety and Security about potential HIJACKERS!

I LAUGHED when Tinubu and his allies begged Nigerians to be patient with him.

I was NOT surprised when security agencies, including the Nigerian Military, tried to intimidate the protesters that have not even gathered. Everybody knows the Nigerian Military have a HARD-ON for unarmed civilians.

I was ALL for the protests and waiting for Nigerians to deal with Tinubu and his SHITTY government. I looked forward to the protests. That is UNTIL I saw the list of demands.

If you have not seen the list of demands, look it up! It's a JOKE!

It's very OBVIOUS that a politician wrote it.

It reads like a manifesto for a political campaign. And much like a manifesto, it's completely UNREASONABLE and UNACHIEVABLE and merely meant to stir up the LARGEST number of people.

ANYONE who goes out for the protest and ends up getting shot to death would have died the death of a FOOL!

There is NO unity of direction. ZERO common goal! The demands sound like a list of things a jobless guy would bitch about in a beer parlour.

For context, here's a summary of what Sowore wants YOU to risk your life for:

2. After scrapping the WHOLE constitution and being in DIRE need of a new one, IMMEDIATELY scrap the Senate, a body that is required to make laws in Nigeria.

Apart from being absolutely STUPID, these 2 points taken together have the potential to CAUSE a level of absolute CHAOS that Nigerians have never seen before.

3. Pay a minimum wage of #250,000 which is just STUPID considering how devastating the following inflation would be for the Nigerian Economy. It gets even STUPIDER when you realise that the Labour Unions have agreed to a deal of #70,000 to be reviewed every 3 years.

4. Invest heavily in education and give grants and not loans to Nigerian (tertiary) students and aggressively pursue free and compulsory education for children across Nigeria.

The 4th demand is the MOST reasonable demand on the list. Especially the second part. But the idea of giving grants, which is essentially FREE money, to 18-year olds to study sociology and mass communication still rubs me the wrong way.

A subsidized education targeted at students in school for courses related to CRITICAL sectors in Nigeria like Healthcare, Agriculture and IT would have been better.

5. Release Nnamdi Kanu, the founder of a TERRORIST organisation. A man who SINGLEHANDEDLY destablised an entire region. A man whose followers continue to impose a sit-at-home curfew on a whole region and MURDER anyone who fails to comply with their weekly lockdowns.

Kanu and his followers brought DOUBT upon the highest office in Nigeria by first claiming that the President was a CLONE and then changing the narrative that the President had been replaced by a body double.

The 4th demand is the MOST reasonable demand on the list. Especially the second part. But the idea of giving grants, which is essentially FREE money, to 18-year olds to study sociology and mass communication still rubs me the wrong way

Your politicians pay their children's school fees using money which belongs to Nigeria and Nigeria. The cost of the average college degree abroad costs almost 200 to 400 times more than the cost of a college degree for a student in Nigeria. That money used to pay those exorbitant fees belong to the Nigerian people and can provide for the tuition needs of hundreds. Why is it Ok for your politicians to use that money on their own kids but not ok to demand it be given as tuition grants to 100s of Nigerian students in need of it? Why must that money not be used by them to study whatever it is they desire?
