A neighbor of mine was involved in an Okada accident while coming back from work one evening, fortunately for him he survived the accident with injuries all over his body as the bike's brake failed while descending a slope. He nearly pass out at the scene of the accident but passersby came to his rescue and stabilize him, an Okada guy who stopped by to see what's happening recognized him as they live in the same neighborhood and offered to help rush him to the hospital. As the Okada guy was taking him to the hospital they met the man's wife and daughter on their way to church for a vigil. The wife and daughter showed no sympathy nor feeling to their breadwinner as the wife just told the Okada guy to take her injured husband to his bossom friend's place to stay for the night instead of her and daughter to follow the injured husband to hospital. The wife and daughter proceeded to church for vigil and leave their breadwinner in that state writhing in pain and wounds allover his body. The bikeman was surprised by the wife and daughter's attitude that he confessed if he hadn't known the family he would have doubted if the woman and daughter are truly the man's wife and child respectively. The Okada man took the man to a clinic, have him treated and drop him at the friend's place to stay for the night. The wife and daughter did not even come back from the vigil till the night of the following day. I interpret the wife's attitude to be: "I don't care if he dies"

Maybe she just fears and worship her pastor (but she'll say it's God) more than her husband. Won't be surprised if she even spent a lot of time praying for him at the vigil. People like that can do anything they're instructed to do by their pastors.

Maybe one man somewhere has been sending Pringles and Maltina through the wife to the accidented man before the unfortunate incident.........It has happened to one other guy on one thread like that....

Once someone can’t even talk without mentioning “god” I usually cautious of such people cuz they are the worst.

The worst liar i knew in secondary school was one religious lad, disloyal as hell. In university, the spirokoko were the worst. In real life work environment, the religious ones are the most wicked.

I have a couple of people I know very well.

Church all the time. One church activity to the other but one of them is a heartless scammer. Very irresponsible fool that has four children from three women and is likely to have more.

Another and his wife are actually pastors but na when you near them you go know sey God is merciful. If not that dem raise me from good Christian home ni, I for reject Christianity all together because of their behaviour.

The pastor of that church don chop the wife and daughter indomie .....let the man be wise in his next actions after recovery...

I don’t know why people think their marriage must last till eternity even when they hate each other to this extent.

I watched a street interview a while ago where several women were asked if they would donate their kidney to a dying husband and they all said no.

Some of their reasons were
1) “He has a girlfriend (cheating). Some said “girlfriend”s so the men must have been serial cheaters”. One woman was like “let one of his girlfriends donate”.

2) “He can’t take care of the children if something happens to me. So if I donate my kidney and have an adverse event, no one will be there for my kids.”

3) “I know he can’t donate for me because I know the man I married”

It just made me wonder what these people count as success. Length of marriage or quality of the relationship in the marriage?. Because some of these women would be very harsh on you if you mentioned divorce to them. But they stick to the marriage with a man who has been treating them like crap for decades. Someone who they won’t mind if he dies. They just can’t get themselves to leave. Interesting

I have been asking myself the same question but I also give it to them that they take the vow till death do us part seriously because what is the difference between boyfriend/girlfriend and wife/husband if the latter believe they can just leave for any reason?

Nothing in the narrative portrays the supposed breadwinner as being nice. So not every man and woman is nice.
I don't support discord in families but sometimes some men deserve the treatment they get from their wife(s). Why?

Agreed. This is part of the reason I want to see more prosperous black African women so that they get to choose based on true desires not solely for economic reasons. I have stated here that our women should japa the more so they see the world as there is a lot out there. Also, I have stated that should Nigeria be as rich as Malaysia, many Nigerian women WILL not marry Nigerian men.

Lastly, going forward, young Nigerian women should be wise choosers. At the end of the day, each individual makes his/her choice and should bear the fruits of that choice, whether positive or negative.

this man is the sole provider for the family, works very hard to put food on the table for the family, finance the kids education up to higher institution. The first kid just finished his nysc, while the second is now waiting for call up. All his hustles are for the family but still not rated by the wife. I have never seen a man so despised by his wife. And on top, she isn't a working class. All responsibilities are on the man
