With inflation rate of more than 25%, minimum wage of #70,000.
What is 20% increase in pension?
It should have been done at the rate at which the minimum wage was done for it to be meaningful.
For one who receives a pension of #80-100,000 monthly 20% should be how much now?
You Self see am say this means nothing.

If he likes he should increase it by 20000% it's none of our business.

Goodluck Jonathan will be the happiest man laughing wherever he is now. Even though his government was mostly about Iooting too but not like this Evil incarnate occupying the seat now.

Thrasher2024:
why did he implement it now?
There could be a range of reasons - but the question isn't whether it is cynical, it is how did he arrive at the particular conclusion that killing protesters is the goal? Couldn't it just be so that they too don't join the protest? Why go for the most extreme interpretation?

Beyond this, do you feel a 20% pension increment is the most immediate concern of the average soldier? If that were the goal, wouldn't they give them a more immediate benefit??

Trying to bride the strongholds of the army and military.

Oga, fix the nation. . Work on FX rate. . Check what you can truly do about Dangote refining to Nigeria. . Expand agricultural and mineral exploration base to lift naira valuation.

This govt, always running away for the core issues. .

This one is obviously to silence thoughts of a coup and not to make the active armed forces work harder.

A good one by the President regardless of the motives behind it at this time.

We can all see that even the Military is benefiting from the threat of a mass peaceful protests against bad leadership.

When the people are united in holding governments at all levels to account, the people benefit from better policies.

On this specific matter, the president should go further by establishing a special insurance fund to ensure that the families of security personnel killed on active duty are paid monies that can cater for thier loss.

Or ensure that a maximum of 3 children below the age of 18 are either trained to tertiary level or given vocational skills training of thier choice.
if the motive is not right, how is it a "good one"?

is it tinubu you are expecting to do the highlighted?

tinubu did not contest for office because he wants to deliver good governance or improve the welfare of nigerians. he is there to consolidate power and enrich himself and his cronies. when you know that, you will understand the reason behind his actions.

for the pension, why is it coming at this time? peanuts to discourage a coup and give soldiers one more reason to molest citizens in the event the protest kicks off

HE IS NOW USING PUBLIC MONEY TO BRIBE THE MILITARY, SO THEY CAN KILL NIGERIANS FOR HIM.

THIS MAN IS THE WORST I HAVE SEEN IN MY LIFE.

NO CONSCIENCE!
When i was telling my fellow people about him during the election they never heed to my word. Someone that removed governor Ambode that was performing optimally, so people except anything good to come out of him. He is ready to d*e on that sit and the military he is banking on would be the ones to do the job because the notherns owns nigerian army.

Igbos: We are one of the highest contributors in Nigeria economy. Summarily: We even build in our land and other people's land, but how many non-indigenes build in our land? We invest in other people's land, but how many non-indigenes invest in our land?
Please don't talk against Igbos on protest, do they look like people interested in protest?
Building on other people's land in this country is one of the most foolish thing done by the Igbos.
That's what gives these people the effrontery to shout "go back to your land!".
The Igbos are true nationalists though, so I don't actually blame them for that

Next time when Agbero want to collect levy, they should exempt anyone that's not a Lagos indigent. Simple.

The fear factor.

Rather than ameliorating the suffering of the masses, they chose to appease the military
