BALLOSKI:
You people don't even mention the hostility you mete out to trucks in your region. You have your youths at every inch of the road extorting people.

They claim you must pay for stickers and emblem in every state in the SE and SS.

If my cargo lands in Calabar and I'm to move it to the north, there's no road and moving on the bad roads is costly to my trucks and my pocket because you have robbers as youths whose sole job is to steal in the name of paying for produce/haulage/emblem/stickers.

My truck is carrying Gypsum and some fools ask drivers to pay for "produce", if you don't pay, they destroy your truck and beat your drivers up. The only state you don't easily get attacked SS or SE is Edo state - they have Taskforce guys at the bypass still. Aba, Onitsha, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, cross rivers, Rivers, Imo, Enugu, just name them, are all not friendly. We're not talking about ESN/IPOB destruction of trucks just yet.

SW will definitely keep enjoying certain privileges because of their receptive nature.
The fact that u complained about task force over police and army extortion show u are a wicked lair

Ok let's assume their is task force issue like u stated...is that not more reason why the ports should work making travel distance less?

Tribalism has always been the preferred glass to look at things rather than the reality.

Jonathan failed, pure and simple. If the opposition gave him stress, which president never faced it?

The Economist magazine called him clueless. That says it all.

When the price of oil never went above $65 per barrel, OBJ used $12bn to pay off $30bn the nation's debt (Debt buyback). He also amassed $20bn in the Excess Crude Reserves. Jonathan saved nothing despite the price of crude oil hovered over $100/barrel during most of his time in office.

He scored a E. Buhari scored an F raised to the power 10.
Most people that supported this current and past administration were not completely honest with the statistics and facts, just as you re doing right now. They manipulate, cover up and act like savior. What is true can't be hidden, please stop advancing this crooked facts that you too well to be half truth. This is a case of give a dog a bad name so that you can hang it.

Nigeria's Excess Crude Account (ECA) now stood at about $3.6 billion compared to $3.4 billion in February under a clueless government. Mr president and the rest of his evil cohorts wanted power by crook and by lies therefore they commissioned their media leviathans with well planned out lies. Propaganda was apc's greatest weapon of war, and they were able to conquer territories with it.

As of August 2015, after Buhari assumed office, it stood at $2.2 billion but it gradually depleted. No one from the apc's branch were making noise then. I and the rest of the people who voted this error were still believing in this(buhari) grandmaster of money launderers, patron of intelligent thieves; that he would get it right. Today, what are we seeing ?

If we re to go by the current/previous good statistics projected. We would be in a happy state now. But the reality of all their mistakes and mismanagement counter those statistical record.

All this half truth is annoying

Let me say this the reason South South ports are not active is simply because they are not allowed to receive certain goods, certain goods comes ONLY through Lagos

Pharmaceuticals can only... I mean only come through Lagos airport or Apapa not even tincan

Soludo was shocked when he called igbos in the pharmaceutical industry why they are not back home (since igbos control over 70% of local pharmaceutical industry) ... They told him they can only import through Apapa

Let's be real.. Let all ports be equal, let competition drives growth of ports

I can list like 15 other goods that most come from Lagos

In fact Food... Anything for human consumption must come through Lagos ... It's annoying
na igbo dey kill Nigeria naira, with all this useless substandard import

I am apolitical. If you noticed, I said GEJ scored E and Buhari, a mind blowing F9.

Stop this APC snd PDP nonsense. What's really the difference between the two parties? Both are fantastically corrupt, putting it mildly.

Oga, I'm a transport and do heavy duty haulage, I know we're going through. I know the roads.

I'd prefer a policeman or soldiers asking me for money than youths asking me to 35000 for a sticker that does not cover me in the whole state and i'd need to do it again in another. They're thieves.

You can't take anything out of Calabar without paying or meeting those criminals.

What document do you have to back this your bogus claim
I doubt it's bogus.

The truth is that there's nothing wrong for some ports being excluded from handling some certain items. It might be due to health or security concerns or whatever. At the time it was implemented, it might have made sense, but may now be antiquated.

What's wrong here is that people prefer to throw the tribalism card rather than take pro-active steps.

GEJ was the president of the country for 5 good years. He is from the South South and nothing was done about it. I am not even condemning GEJ for doing nothing about it.

Tinubu is building the coastal highway which will benefit Southern states the most, especially the South South. Tinubu is Yoruba

That port needs it. It's notoriously known as a dead port.
May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
That's my home hometown port kept redundant by Lagos politics orchestrated by OJB after giving our Bakaasi to Cameroon for his own selfish reasons.

That's Nigeria's first Port, go fact check but today kept inactive due to politics. Some day we'll all go back to regionalism and our potentials that made us Nigeria's first ever capital will blossom

Smh. Is that the lie you are telling yourself or being fed?
I have a very close person who worked at that port and spends more time sleeping than actually at work. When I asked him why? He said ships don't come to Calabar port because it's very expensive to clear goods there and so bad that the locals immediately increase the prices of goods as soon as a ship lands!
For one year, they got only one ship and the ship never returned to dock in Calabar. If you don't have hospitality and make investors feel welcome then you cannot turn around and blame businesses that move away. Was it Obj that killed Tinapa too? Even HE Liyel Imoke complained bitterly that it was a colossal white elephant project!
Please look into the mirror and be honest, there's not enough effort by the good to overcome the ills in your state and it has always required outsiders helping right from the abolition of killing of twins to the sad incident of child abuse ,child witch labeling and infanticide.
While growing up, your state has always been one of my favorite states because it sounded cool but you have so much work to do. Please go work on yourself first before blaming outsiders. God bless Cross River state and may God bless my Lagos State for ever!

Tinapa was not a white elephant project even though Duke overestimated the cost so he can make money. In the first two years alone Tinapa raked in some much money that it caused uproar on the federation. If you are old enough you will remember the updates on DStv and other foreign stations.

Back to the Port, if you are well informed by your sleeping friend you will know the port has not been properly dredged since 2002 so only very few ships can berth there. In 2002 when the depth was enough for berthing cars were imported through Calabar port and I remember my elder bro buying gold for 300k there.

So my brother, while we have our own challenges especially with the incompetence of that imp of a former governor who looted the state dry and spoke only grammar still we know the politics.
Dredge the port and it will take in revenue.

Finally the "outsiders" you mentioned I blame had political power for years and Port authority is under the exclusive list just like our solid minerals and boundary adjustment that affected Bakaasi which ceded our oil wells. Am sure if your beloved Lagos had these factors against their strength it won't be the Lagos it is despite being the capital of Nigeria for over 50 years and benefitted from National and industrial development. Lata time I checked Lagos has no meaningful natural resources except the Atlantic which Calabar, Rivers, Bayelsa and all south south states have too

I still maintain that resource control will be our best bet so our God given resource can be used to develop our state while electoral amendment will give us opportunity to have good leadership

Alaleye revealed that the Calabar Port serves the Adamawa/Taraba/Borno axis and confirmed that vessels from the port also service neighboring countries like Cameroon, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea.
