Good day all,

I want to send my opay account number to somebody but I mixed up those number that the money was transferred to wrong account.

Now, I have been calling the number for 3 days now and it has been switched off and whenever it rings, the person will cut the call

I was able to trace the person to FB and I saw that he has worked as a special assistant to govt.

I have sent him a DM via his FB and he is not responding.

Please what can I do to catch this person because the money transfered to his account is above 50.

Dey play for this Sunday morning, you transfer your account number to someone without including your account name to it? Tag Opay for their twitter handle and explain everything to them, they go humble the guy

In my case with kuda Bank to wrong palmpay account,
Money was never returned when I contacted both banks

We can’t have better Government in Nigeria cuz the people themselves are corrupt.

From the comments, you can see the number of erroneous transfers that recipients refused to refund. A wicked, greedy and dishonest set of people we are as Nigerians.

Since it's opay to opay, you can get your money back without much stress.

Reach out to opay via their handle or mail them and explain the issue at hand with receipt evidence of your transfer to the said number. Check your dashboard you will see how to get to their customer care.

It can only be refunded if the owner of the said account has not re-transferred the money or even withdraw it to a safer environment.
That money is gone bro, he can only plead, and that can only be done through reaching to the person through phone calls or text message, that God will touch the heart.

You didn't triple check before sending the account number? The person you sent the account details to didn't confirm if the account number tallies with the account name? Carelessness from both sides, I really hope you get your money back.

How do people even make mistakes of sending money to wrong accounts numbers, like you didn't confirm and check the account number you input and the account name, it should bring out, even if the account number were wrong, at least you should know by the account name, it brings out, how do people still make mistakes baffles me.

Mistakes know no bounds. Sometimes, rushing while engaging in a multi task may be a cause because it has happened to me before but the question I asked myself was, how did I send it without confirming the name but it is what it is...the mistake happened after all.

I made this mistake since last 3 years. I transferred 5000 to non existing opay account till now money haven't been reversed. I went to my stupid UBA bank for more than 3 days I just left everything because the transportation was not easy.

Opay will contact the customer first before reversing the erroneously transfered funds.

Except if there's a court order.

this is one is airtime own, I agree it can happen very well in case of airtime, it has happened to me too. But account number own is different, cos it would show you clearly the name attached to that account number unlike airtime. If you're collecting people's account number, ensure you collect the correct account names too, so such mistakes won't happen

Some people make an average of 100 to 200 transfers everyday.

Top business owners are very busy individuals.

Contact Opay customer service by email with transaction details, time, date and amount.

After cross-check, they will block the receivers account. It is very easy, it has happened to my daughter. Be reassured you will get your money back.
