Kukutente23:
As someone who has travelled? What is the size of Ekiti compared to Niger and Benue? Ekiti is not even up to a third of both states in terms of size.
Besides that, is there any yam market as big as Zaki Ibiam Yam market in Ekiti? Have you been to yam Market in Garatu before in Niger?
Even on the internet, Benue is the largest yam producing state in Nigeria. So you're the one battling myopia
Because benue is the largest yam producing state doesn’t mean new yam will be more expensive than benue yam

Even in OYO, when it’s yam season new yam is cheaper than “Abuja yam”. You people should leave internet and touch grass

It’s new yam, it’s expensive for that price
Na...it's quite reasonable at 15k, even though it's new yam. Three of those will go for minimum of 7k in Ibadan because yam is sold in 3s.

Kukutente23:
So you think yam is expensive in Abuja because they don't have yam farmers abi
Oga shift. You don't know anything. Google gbagyi people who are the Abuja indigenes
How much is a tuber of yam in Abuja? I wouldn't even expect you to know because you're hold up somewhere and have probably never travelled outside your region. You're so sure... So sure of nothing.. try dey travel.

Well, I haven’t seen or price new yam for sale this year, so my pricing might be off…. When I was staying at Ijaye, a community after moniya I buy directly from the farmers and I am sure even with this Tinubu economy I won’t buy that yam from them for 15k (they might shock me sha)

It’s not a matter of who has more yam. For a state whose indigenous food is pounded yam, you should know they have adequate yam

Size is irrelevant
What is the size of Israel or Holland
Holland is smaller than Yobe state but is the number 2 food exporter in the world
It seems making baseless claims and assumptions is your hobby

10 tubers of that size at 15k translates to N1500 per tuber. Very cheap. A tube of that size can't be less than N2500 in lagos.

Benue nor dey get new yam na
Almost no state in south west will import in new yam, most new yam are locally grown in the state

The reason why south west state import yam is because of storage. peak yam season you will see truck of yam leaving southwest because they don’t have facilities to store them

Ondo, OYO, Ekiti, Kwara are also top yam producing states in Nigeria

Keep lying

In Lagos here, it's 5k
It depends where you are buying from. Maybe lekki and Ajah where things are arbitrarily expensive. I bought Yams on Friday, one tuber is twice a tuber in the picture if not a bit more for 5k. Although, I bought at mile 12 market.

A tuber of yam costs less in Ekiti. You have serious comprehension issues. I've reiterated this over and over again. Niger, Benue and Taraba were producing the most populous when it comes to yam farming but that is not the case today. Yam is cheaper in Ekiti because you can get a reasonably large tuber for 2k. I know this because I have people who travel down west and buy in trucks. So I want to understand you correctly. If a tuberof yam in Abuja, which you claims produces more yams than ekiti goes for 5k. How much would someone buy yam if there's no one farming yam in Abuja? 10k a tuber maybe? 😀 You are arguments are just outright baseless and holds no water.

Na u be d ignoramus. Op bought directly from a farmer. U go just dey quick to defend ur slave masters
Kukutente23:
He thief am grin grin
Zombies, when una deceive unaself finish una go rest
You can't even get this for 15k in the North

Modified: For all the ignoramus quoting me, learn today that Benue is the chief yam producing state in Nigeria. Don't just sit in your village and be making comments to those who have travelled widely. Google Zaki Ibiam Yam market for further info. The Gwaris, Gbagyi and Igedes are the chief yam producing tribes in Nigeria and they are in the North Central.
