People are saying it's because they want to frustrate the planned protest
it will rather instigate the protest. The crowd I saw today can start a protest. People are really angry and frustrated

It seems MTN wants to buy market.

You can open bank account (of any bank) with app and your BVN, so why can't you link your line to aa damn NIN via app?

I was at MTN office Ikotun this morning as early as 7:30am to get a sim swap. Lo and behold, I met an overwhelming crowd. Almost all the people there had their sim card blocked over the weekend.

The MTN staff addressed the crowd and told them the fault is from NCC who authorized TELCOS to bar people's lines.

Why would NCC be frustrating Nigerians when there's anger already in the land? People need their lines activated for business activities. People who are supposed to go their businesses are crowded at MTN offices because of their lines. I learnt some people came as early as 3am to the office just to get numbers. I couldn't get number because I came by 7:30am. I also learnt MTN staff there worked on Sunday yesterday.

Government should better do something fast before it escalates to something else.
Below are some pictures I snapped. I left there some minutes ago because I couldn't stand any longer. The crowd is overwhelming!!
It's obvious calls are being monitored. Probably using AI

Hmm. Idi Amin wouldn't have done this during his time in Uganda.
Not even Adolf Hitler tried to stop Germans from talking to one another.

Are those heading NCC dey think at allhuh

Why will you deliberately activate frustrating action that will force people to assemble like this at this periodhuh

Are you not trying to ignite the planned protest this way, especially when your Government is trying to stop the protest grin grin grin grin grin

Na wa for some of these Government officials...den no dey think
Re: Massive Crowd At MTN Office Ikotun by Emmaari: 10:17am On Jul 29, 2024
They should start the gadawn thing from there already
Re: Massive Crowd At MTN Office Ikotun by Emu4life(m): 10:17am On Jul 29, 2024
Beremx:
This is how the protest will start because people are really angry. Government can't keep frustrating Nigerians at any slightest provocation.
My Glo line was also barred but I can't stress myself this morning going to unblock it. I don't know of any Glo office around my area.

If this continues into when the protest starts it's going to be a big problem. I imagine a scenario like this in other parts of Nigeria.
Ogbeni go sitdon. For months now, if not years, you have been warned of potential line blockage cuz of NIN and you ignored.
You want us to buy you Fanta or what??
The Government is sadistic but this one no follow.

These telecoms are playing with 🔥. Imagine this crowd of people in their offices on the days of protest? In fact, they are indirectly mobilising people for protest in their offices. Telecoms are the people organising this protest.

I solve this many months ago. I wish it was that simple as they kept saying it failed. I had to physically go to their office on a Saturday. Only about 20 people on the line but it took may be 3 hours. That crowd can not be attended to today... So they would come the next day even more frustrated and the next day until the burning and looting starts. Let MTN keep playing.
