I don't think anyone can guess how much your car insurance will cost. This is because there are just too many variables they consider in calculating your premium. Location, type/age of car, driver's licence level, driver's age/gender/marital status etc.

Are you certain your letter of completion won't be out immediately you graduate?

Most institutions in Canada (colleges and universities) issue letter of completion within a week from the end of the program.

What takes time is your transcript, but that is not mandatory when applying for PGWP.

However, if your study permit expires before you get your letter of completion to enable you apply for PGWP, you'll have to go through another route.

Since you'll be out of status, you'll have to pay IRCC money to restore your status. Once your status is restored, then you can apply for PGWP.

I'll advise you get in touch with your school's international office to see how quickly you can get your letter of completion

Hello,

I do not know if this question has already been answered but I just need urgent clarification

I am traveling from Abuja to Toronto, via lufthansa but transiting through Frankfurt and Paris.

I hold both a Canadian Visa and an American Visa.

Do I still need a Transit Visa.

All responses are highly appreciated.

Thank you

I own a 2009 Honda CRV, covered less than 5000km the past 1year as a newcomer. I paid $300/month. Upon renewal last month, my new monthly payment is $245/month

Schengen transit visa is required, if holding a Nigerian passport with that route.

Determining validity periods
Once an officer has determined that an applicant is bona fide and meets the requirements, they are to issue a long-term study permit, along with a long-term multiple-entry TRV or an eTA, if applicable, for the length of studies plus 90 days or passport expiry, whichever comes first. The validity period of the study permit and the TRV may not go beyond the passport validity date; the eTA will remain valid up to 5 years from the date of issuance or until passport expiry, whichever comes first, regardless of whether this date is beyond the expiry date for the study permit. If an officer has reasons to restrict the validity period of a study permit due to concerns with the case, they should note the reasons in the “Notes” box in GCMS. If this is not done, the border services officers will amend the permit to reflect the full course or program of study.

The above is from the IRCC website. Your study permit should be valid for the length of your study plus 90 days. You need to contact IRCC via web form and email to bring this to their attention. It may have been an administrative error.

Since your school does not provide confirmation of program completion before the expiration of your study permit, you have 3 options that I am aware of.

Option 1
Apply for a study permit extension again before you run out of status.
Why this may seem unusual, it will prevent you from being out of status as you will have an "implied status"
With an implied status, you can then wait for your letter of completion and apply for your PGWP.
Before you apply for your PGWP, you are not permitted to work. Immediately after you apply, you are then permitted to work even before the PGWP is granted.

Option 2
Apply for a visitor record before your study permit expires.
When you get your letter of completion, you then apply for PGWP.
You are not permitted to work until your PGWP is granted.

Option 3
Wait to run out of status and then apply to restore your status.
With this, you have to apply for restoration of status, a new study permit and PGWP at the same time.
You are not permitted to work until your PGWP is granted.

Also, I have added a link below. Scroll to the 'post-graduation work' section and read through the FAQs

Option 1 is your best bet. This will allow you to start working immediately you submit your PGWP application.

With the other options, you'll have to wait for your PGWP application to be successful before you start working, and with the current backlog that could take at least 5 months

When applying for an extension, be sure to let the VO know that you are doing it to provide you ample time to apply for your PGWP

Citizens (husband and wife) should be able to purchase them. Am I correct? If so, why the complaints about lack of housing?

a two bedroom in an ideal situation should not cost more than 300k. Considering the location and high interest rates its still too expensive for most people. Also the current housing developments are still not enough to solve the housing crisis.

Hi, you said you have about 5 years driving experience in Nigeria. Is your Nigerian drivers license still valid?

If yes, can’t it be used to get the FRSC extract to enable you get the G license?
