For someone who was showing promising talent with the u16(where he actually scored all the goals that made round and not with u18 as being speculated by some), he was offered a contract with the u18 with playing time with u21 and also playing time and training sessions with the first team as the season goes on.

I don't need to watch him regularly to conclude if he is good or not. I simply need to trust the judgement of his managers at the academy who know him better than all of us. If they believe he is not ready for that promotion, then he is probably not.
Arsenal loss is Man United s gain. Full stop. No need for explanations.

I wish him well but not Man United. Simple.

That said, scoring 32 goals in 20 games is no guarantee you are going to be a star if you haven't done anything at senior level. We've had the likes of Nketiah and Balogun boss the academy like say tomorrow no dey. He is still work in progress and if United do not handle him properly or if he doesn't have the patience to grow, he will flop.

Arsenal letting him go is no big deal as long as they know what they are doing.

Winger? You get like 3 already now and 4 if you add Jesus.

Now, let me ask you this. You're criticising Arteta on top this academy matter moment ago. Same you posted we needed at least 2 midfielders. Now what should we do with Ethan? How will Ethan get to play if we sign two midfielders in addition to the 5 we have?
Haba na. E no connect na.

Since we know how he does them, would you want to still lean into this School of thought?

If he does trust Ethan, it will shock all of us because that would mean he has finally done a big u-turn from his own norm. That's the exception hence.

Till then, we use what we see on ground to make decisions. Esp with the two we see are linked Merino and Ruiz. That's Arteta still. Not me!

E connect bro. If we add two more midfielders as suggested by you, e go affect Ethan.

Playing Ethan won't shock anybody. He was the one who gave the lad his debut at 16.

May God bless you bro. They wanted a certain amount that Arsenal was not willing to pay. They now made a U-turn to say the move was not financially motivated.

the Dubbery argument seems more logical than this chidi matter. If he's given a clear first team chance and end up not impressing enough to earn game time, it is still Arteta that everyone will still blame for it. Good luck to him at man utd, if he turns out to be the next Haaland, fine, we will take our loss and move on.

Read my last two paragraphs. It is a conditional one based on status quo. We are complaining because the status quo is hindering folks like Ethan. Till it is solved we meuve and base decisions as fans on what we can expect. You're basing yours on the assumption that MA will want to give Ethan a spot. I'm basing mine on what I've seen MA do for 5years. We just finished with ESR mata now!!!!

If he includes him, that will be a shocker from the norm. We know our coach well..

This commercial aspect is one thing many fans don't include in their assessment. It is a bad thing to just be churning out freebies while others do nothing near and still cash out awoofically.

If Arsenal can't get better chance for academy products, at least position them well to rake in funds. A dozen academy products should rake in at most 100m if we getting rid of them by leave.

Seriously? You're suggesting a trial and error now. A lot of downside are involved. The better option is to gradually groom and introduce them.
Giving exceptional talents opportunities is not trial and error. The sensible thing for any club is to give their academy guys the best environment to reach their highest potentials. If an exceptional talent is miles ahead of his teammates, the onus lies on the club to promote him so he can improve.

That’s how to breed world beaters, not stifle their growth in the name of “gradually grooming them”

As for your second paragraph, you're the first to report here that he was promised U21 football and now you're saying something else. How come?

Those who lament know themselves now. They said the samr thing about Walters, Hutchinson and even Patino. Na here we dey.
I’m only reporting on what I’ve heard and read and commenting on them. What’s clear is that the kid hasn’t been given the barest minimum of assurances. For a supposed top club, that’s really poor.

This is the reason I’ve been arguing all along. A smart club doesn’t only develop talents for their own team. If they can’t make it at the club, they can make it elsewhere, but at a profit to the club.

He scored the goals with the Under-18s not just Under-16. It is now clear many of you don't even follow your academy but want to make assertions you don't know about. This is not speculation but what some of us followed as it happened.

March 16 Arsenal Under-18 he scored 3 goals against Crystal Palace

March 30 Arsenal Under-18 he scored 4 goals against Fulham

April 6 Arsenal Under-18 he scored 1 goal against West Brom

April 9 Arsenal Under-18 he scored 2 goals against Brighton

I am not even concerned if he turn good or bad
It's the money we are losing that's paining me
We have forgotten we don't spend like this during wengay and ebening
Our sponsor can decide to shut us down on funds again
Maybe that will straighten their head, I remember wengay have to sell to buy

i still have PTSD from those wenger transfer windows. It is why i face front till now for any transfer news regarding Arsenal. Eiiii. How i see this, is that this is a self destruct move if this continues. Cos one day, if we have another manager and they wantu focus on academy sales, rivals should not now be using this present mode to justify their stance that we churn our averages that we don't consider good enough.

I Know you want to sound funny but you aren't because Chelsea selling Hutchinson to Ipswich might be the reason you guys wouldn't be winning the league next season.

You can bet on that when arsenal meets Ipswich town on both legs.

Till then , Hutchinson leaving arsenal is a huge mistake for you guys.

Arsenal currently spending more than we did during Wenger and Emery times being a concern like say the market then and now is still the same. Every club is currently breaking their record signings because of the inflation in the market but somehow we should still be doing the €40+1 bargain. Just like some said, my issue with not just Arteta but everyone involved in contract management of players is allowing these players leave for less or zero fees, aside from that who leaves doesn't really concern me.
