Nice one, let me clap for another beneficiary of wickedness, you may be my guest if you decide to die for politicians who don't even know you exist
Jagabanbattle:
Anyone who continue the protest from today henceforth is a criminal and should be treated like one. It is treason to plan a coup against an elected government either through civilians or military. Anyone who is caught protesting and asking for change of government should be imprisoned till court deliver judgement which is death by firing squad. Nonsense

Why do we have to believe what they are saying? Have they not been saying Nigeria is broke for ages now yet they came in and bought SUVs for themselves worth billions? Nigeria is broke but 21billion was spent to renovate a house for just a single individual when his predecessor was not living in a bush? Billions is being planned for a new jet while majority of the populace are wallowing in multidimensional poverty.
You that have been believing their lies is the funny one here.
This is how much we spent for subsidy in the first six months of 2023....six trillion naira

This is how much we spent on the SUV's.....2.6 billion naira.

I agree with you, we should not have bought the SUV...but 2.6 billion, even 21 billion won't pay for one month of subsidy.
Re: #EndBadGovernance: Sultan, CAN President Demand Immediate End Of Protests by Druss(m): 6:10pm On Aug 02, 2024
CAN should stay out of this. Religion is not a part of this.

These guys have no influence except maybe in their immediate family...they lack empathy for the suffering masses. Who wants peace amidst injustice, corruption, bad governance, etc?

I still don't believe those silly figures bandied around by our government as the actual cost of subsidy. If those figures are to be investigated by an independent source you will find massive massive fraud going on in the oil and gas sector.
What is the actual cost of repairing our refineries and what is the cost of subsidies we have spent over the last few years? Nhy did it become necessary to ground our refineries while we thought it better to import our fuel? You see the government has taken us for a ride for so long that one cannot believe their lies anymore.

CAN of shame! Useless body that neither represents CHRIST nor the poor whom CHRIST urges them to protect. Shameless thieves! CAN is dead! No serious Christian takes them seriously anymore. Cash-and-carry nonentities! angry

Egg is 250
A loaf of bread is 2k
Fuel is 835 per litre where I bought this evening.
A tiny cup of beans is 500.
One kg of cooking gas is 1400.

This government has made people's wages worthless in less than one year. Idiots that should tell FG to return subsidy on fuel so that the poor and mid-level earners can get some relief, they are instead facing the wrong direction. Devils! angry

Are they begging for it to stop or they are demanding for it to stop?
Please help me text them (I no get data or credit if not I for text myself) that they are in no position to demand anything from the poor masses because they are part of the problem. If they as leaders can't speak truth to power then they are useless to us.

Well since you don't believe the figures, and you don't have any contrary figure with evidence, but your gut feeling...

You are right

shortgun:
Tinubu should return fuel subsidy.
All Nigerians are asking is for Tinubu to take them back to where he met them.
if he takes you back to where he met you the situation you will find yourselves will be worse than now. There wont even be any petrol to buy because we we so deep in debt our foreign suppliers would not sell petrol to us. There would be no forex to import food and there would not be enough naira to fund the government. The government would be forced to continue printing money leading to inflation and eventually we would default on our debts making imports even harder..... the long and short is the economy Buhari left behind was less than a month or 2 away from collapse. Venezuela style.

If thats where you want to go fine, I dont want to go there.

We had 2 choices, we were heading for Venezuela or we tighten our belts and endure the pains we refused to embrace for decades. I have said this many times the only problem I have is that the government asked to people to tighten their belts wile they continue living large at tax payers expense. Bad optics!!!

Every single presidential candidate said they would remove subsidy from Day1 because they all knew how bad it was. I just watched a video of Obi saying "from day 1"

The Nigeria of cheap imports and N185 petrol is gone! its not coming back no matter what you do. Like i said if it comes back there will be no petrol to buy and the black market rate will rise to possibly N2000. food prices will rise as a result which means remove subsidy or dont remove subsidy where we are now is inevitable and unavoidable. At least under this environment we are in control of our destiny.

Only a fool will bring back subsidy. See a year like this was sure for Nigeria over 10 years ago. Economically we are messed up. In advanced country monthly communications will follow a year like this.

No miracle, economist will save Nigeria from a year like this.
We practiced unsustainable economics.
NIgeria'sMoney belongs to Nigerian and they want it spent on fuel subsidy not the president's ego

It's not not their fault. They are feeding fat on people's offerings and thithes apart from government support programs.

All the palliatives are being dropped at their door steps without stress.
