1. Heavy Heart and Responsibility: • Critique: It’s ironic that President Tinubu speaks of responsibility, yet his administration’s actions have led to the current turmoil. His words seem hollow when the youth he claims to understand are being killed and oppressed. 2. Desires of Young Nigerians: • Critique: A mere acknowledgment of the youth’s aspirations is not enough. Actions speak louder than words, and this administration has done little to create a better and more progressive country. 3. Loss of Lives and Destruction: • Critique: The president’s expression of pain is empty. If he truly cared, he would have taken steps to prevent such tragedies. The destruction of properties is a direct result of his administration’s failure to address the root causes of the protests. 4. Commiseration with Families: • Critique: Empty condolences won’t bring back the lost lives. Real action to prevent further bloodshed and violence is what’s needed, not just words. 5. Ensuring Public Order: • Critique: The president’s idea of public order is oppressive. His administration’s response to protests has been brutal and repressive, showing a clear disregard for the lives and rights of citizens. 6. Suspending Protests and Dialogue: • Critique: Calling for suspension of protests and dialogue is laughable. This administration has shown time and again that it only listens when forced to. Dialogue without genuine intent to change is futile. 7. Protection of Constitutional Rights: • Critique: It’s hypocritical to talk about respecting constitutional rights when the government has repeatedly violated them through police brutality and suppression of peaceful protests. 8. Vision for a Just and Prosperous Nation: • Critique: This vision remains a pipe dream. The reality on the ground is starkly different, with widespread poverty, corruption, and inequality. Economic Policies and Actions 9. Painful Decisions: • Critique: Removing fuel subsidies and abolishing multiple foreign exchange systems have only added to the suffering of ordinary Nigerians. These decisions have led to skyrocketing living costs and economic instability. 10. Blocking Greed and Profits: • Critique: While claiming to block greed, the administration has allowed corruption to thrive. Smugglers and rent-seekers still operate with impunity, while ordinary citizens bear the brunt of economic mismanagement. 11. Doubling Government Revenues: • Critique: Doubling revenues sounds good on paper, but where is this money going? The average Nigerian sees no improvement in their daily lives, only more hardships and broken promises. 12. Reducing Debt Service: • Critique: Reducing debt service from 97% to 68% is a meaningless statistic to those struggling to make ends meet. The president campaigned on “Na statistics we go chop?” yet here he is, drowning us in irrelevant numbers. 13. Financial Freedom: • Critique: Financial freedom for whom? Certainly not for the millions of Nigerians who can’t afford basic necessities. This so-called financial freedom has not translated into tangible benefits for the populace. 14. Infrastructure Projects: • Critique: Major infrastructure projects are touted as achievements, yet these projects are often mismanaged and delayed. Moreover, they benefit the elite far more than the common citizen. 15. Resurgence of Oil and Gas Industry: • Critique: The so-called resurgence is a myth. The industry remains plagued by corruption and inefficiency, and ordinary Nigerians see no benefits from increased production. 16. Compressed Natural Gas Initiative: • Critique: While the CNG initiative sounds promising, its implementation is lacking. Most Nigerians have yet to see any real impact, and the promised savings are nowhere to be found. 17. Distribution of Kits: • Critique: The distribution of kits is another empty promise. Where are these kits? Where are the conversion centers? Nigerians need action, not more empty rhetoric. 18. Reducing Transportation Costs: • Critique: Transportation costs continue to rise, despite promises to the contrary. The administration’s failure to control inflation further exacerbates the situation. Youth and Social Programs 19. Student Loan Scheme: • Critique: The student loan scheme is a band-aid solution. It does little to address the underlying issues in the education system and leaves students with burdensome debt. 20. Consumer Credit Corporation: • Critique: While this initiative may sound good, its impact on reducing corruption is dubious. The real issue is systemic corruption at the highest levels of government. 21. Digital and Creative Enterprises: • Critique: Securing $620 million is commendable, but how will this money be used? Previous programs have been marred by mismanagement and corruption. 22. Youth Programs: • Critique: These programs are nothing more than lip service. The government has repeatedly failed to deliver on its promises to the youth. 23. Nano-Grants: • Critique: Nano-grants are a drop in the ocean. They are insufficient to address the scale of economic hardship faced by small businesses. 24. Micro and Small Business Loans: • Critique: While loans are being processed, the real challenge is ensuring that these funds reach those in need without being siphoned off by corrupt officials. 25. Payments to Manufacturers: • Critique: Large manufacturers may receive funds, but small businesses continue to struggle. The focus should be on supporting the broader economy, not just select industries. 26. National Minimum Wage: • Critique: A minimum wage of N70,000 is still inadequate given the high cost of living. This increase is too little, too late for many struggling Nigerians. 27. Housing Initiative: • Critique: The housing projects are another example of grand promises with little follow-through. Many Nigerians remain homeless or in substandard housing. 28. Housing Units: • Critique: The goal of 100,000 housing units is ambitious, but will it be achieved? Past projects have failed to meet their targets due to corruption and inefficiency. Agriculture and Food Production 29. Tariffs and Import Duties: • Critique: Removing tariffs is a short-term fix. The real solution lies in boosting local production, which this administration has failed to do effectively. 30. Meeting with Governors: • Critique: Meetings are meaningless without concrete actions. Farmers need real support, not just promises of incentives. 31. Mechanized Farming Equipment: • Critique: Promises of equipment from abroad are just that—promises. Nigerian farmers are still waiting for these resources to materialize. 32. Listening to Citizens: • Critique: The president claims to have heard the youth, but his actions speak otherwise. Continued oppression and brutality show a disconnect between words and deeds. 33. Collective Task: • Critique: The task is indeed collective, but leadership starts from the top. The president must take real, meaningful actions to inspire trust and cooperation. 34. National Infrastructure: • Critique: Infrastructure projects are marred by delays and corruption. The average Nigerian sees little benefit from these grand plans. 35. Government’s Care: • Critique: Claims of a caring government ring hollow when citizens face daily struggles. The administration’s track record of broken promises undermines trust. 36. Bright Future: • Critique: The future looks bleak for many Nigerians under the current administration. Empty slogans won’t change the harsh realities on the ground. 37. Security Operatives: • Critique: Calls for maintaining peace and order often translate to increased repression. Security forces must respect human rights and avoid brutality. 38. Conclusion: • Critique: Thanking Nigerians and invoking God’s blessing are poor substitutes for real action. This administration must deliver on its promises, not just pay lip service. Summary President Tinubu’s speech is filled with empty promises, irrelevant statistics, and hollow reassurances. His administration’s actions have failed to address the root causes of Nigeria’s issues, leaving citizens frustrated and disillusioned. Real change requires more than words; it requires genuine, sustained efforts to improve the lives of ordinary Nigerians.

Tinubu is navigating a complex landscape. His intentions to address youth concerns may not be perfect, but let's give him a chance to turn words into action. Every leader faces hurdles; let's support progress where we can! |

It is more ironic to expect a snake to give birth to a dove. Those who watched it reported that it was heavily edited and has cuts and join, reminiscent of prerecorded videos, reporting breaks in the videos here and there nah. To think the speech was already leaked, showing everything was in play before then. The leaked speech wasn't even realistic. |

TINUBU's speech was a masterclass in leadership. He laid out a clear vision for Nigeria's future, and it’s refreshing to see such commitment. Critics will always find something to say, but the progress we’re witnessing is undeniable. |

trutharena:Did he also not tell you that Nigeria is still paying subsidies? An amount higher than Buhari's government paid? Or are they still deceiving foools by telling them that subsidy is gone but the downfall of dollar for the past few months didn't affect nnpc pump price? Even though the landing cost is dollar dependent Dollar = 1200 Nnpc pump price = 568 Dollar 1600 Nnpc pump price = 568 Tinubu: we are not subsidizing fuel Idiooots: yes jagaban let us suffer today. Foolish things |

trutharena:Tinubu has no implementable plan. Tinubu is treating Nigerians like children who are crying of immediate hunger, then their father promised to make them chicken stew, But when he goes to the market, instead of buying a chicken. He comes back with an egg. He now wants to incubate the egg till it hatches Then wait for the chick to grow into a mature chicken. Nigerians need "immediate" temporizing solutions. A lot of vulnerable people will die if he continues on this stubborn approach. Sharing grains or reading long edited speeches is not the solution. |

I wanted to listen to the radio. As soon as I heard babablu voice, I switched off the radio. Tinubu is a symbol of disaster. |

Govt was to build new houses while there are uncompleted housing projects. Visit Egan and see hundreds of abandoned govt housing projects |

This critique sounds overly harsh. Tinubu is stepping into a complex situation, and we should give him time to implement his vision. It’s easy to throw stones from the sidelines, but real leadership requires navigating tough challenges. Let’s focus on supporting initiatives that uplift our youth and foster progress, rather than just pointing fingers. |

I find it interesting that the president said he intends to convert 80% consumption of diesel and petrol by vehicles to CNG while he just gave an order to supply Dangote refinery crude in naira. This is conflicting if you ask me. |

Ah, the critics are out again! It’s like they’ve been waiting for Tinubu to speak just to unleash their hot takes. Meanwhile, Peter Obi is still trying to figure out how to articulate his own vision. Na so e be, when you dey lack substance, all you fit do na critique others. Maybe they should send him to speechwriting school instead of wasting time on critiques. Awon oniranu! |
