He was never dead he was just bidding his time to see if Tinubu know exactly what he was doing , if Tinubu meant well for the populace even with this message I believe he being a lot cautious not speaking directly to the failing of the Tinubu administration because no one knows what economic impact recovery or any possible verb is action my lead.

The long the evidence of Tinubu takes to materialize the more those supporting him will voice out concerns on such action this negates the extremely foolishness of the average Igbo obidient that want Tinubu condemned simply because they lost the election not minding is his action will have a y positive or negative action on the economy n the populace at large.
He waited too Long.... 9 years late.

Wole Soyinka has finally spoken, Obidients can rest now.
They are very happy now. They are very ungrateful. Imagine the way they insulted Doyin Okupe. When Baba Ayo Adebanjo reminded us how Awolowo was stoned at Aba in the 50s when they went for campaign, they abused him, they insulted him. Obi was nobody politically if not Doyin Okupe and Baba Ayo Adebanjo who supported him at the beginning.

[s]that is not what I asked you.

1. did I make a point or did I ask a question?

2. can you show me where you answered the question I asked?

3. thats interesting but when he was castigating jonathan, why didnt he think of the economic impact of his criticism?
[/s]

You are just talking as if criticism is an offence in a democratic setting. My point is clear, the same Soyinka that led a protest demanding for the recognition of Jonathan as President was the same Soyinka that criticised his maladministration.

Considering the fact that OBJ left about $50b in excess crude oil account coupled with the fact that Nigeria recorded the highest price and production of crude oil under Jonathan too, why should subsidy be removed then if I may ask?

This was exactly what I was telling someone yesterday; instead of savings, things got worst to the extent that FG was borrowing money to pay salaries under the same Jonathan.

When the likes of Iweala was telling Nigerian to prepare for hard times - https://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/171145-brace-tougher-times-ahead-okonjo-iweala-tells-nigerians.html you think she was daft?

Our problem is accumulated one and all the blame game would not solve it.

What Soyinka Should Tell Tinubu:
•Thank you Prof Soyinka- for those who knows you and what you Stands for, that you will not hesitate to say your minds, bluntly and objectively.
But Politicians and their Footsoldiers try to adulterate things to their gaulibles audiences on the Social Media arena!
1• that President Tinubu is being deceived by his Aides- who don't know that Nigerians are Hungary because having removed the Subsidies - which is the Back- bones of the Economy,so what do Nigerians fall on to Survive? - till Now-NOTHING-e g . Retirees in their Millions can't buy Medicines or go to Hospitals - for treatments! Is that fair to them?
2•By now, Refineries ought to be put well place, in order but he is being deceived by the NNPC and their Oil Cabals, and why Malta- why are those who never wants Nigeria to be great are having full days but they are full of Corruption?
He couldn't not tell Nigerians-in his Address - When will the Refineries be ready to give us Low -Price Fuel Prices?
3•.He did not tell Nigerians- How In the Short- Term- the FOODS Prices will Reduce, for the Commoners- in Nigeria( East,West Noth and South) to Smile Again.
Many Families can't Feed Well because of Inflation, but he is saying 70K- Minimum Wages! Is that the Solutions to Hyper- Inflation?
4• Most of the Governors are Working Against the Federal Govt - as they kept the Federal Rice inside their Warehouses- for Repackaging, only to be Sold at higher Prices to the Same Public. Why are we wicked to ourselves? e.g Kogi and Edi States-but why hoarding the Rice from the Masses?.
-Can't there be Presidential Order For these Enemies of State of Nigeria- as deterrent?
5•Tinubu- should Flood the Market with Importations of Foodstuffs, rather his Address is talking about Grants - that has no Name and Non- existence- to NIGERIAN Youths ,
Or Where are the Grants and Which Depts is granting it and at What Locations? and What are the Yardsticks/ for its Operations?
Can 30% Unemployed Youths benefits?
6•What about- the Small and Medium Scale Businesses/ Industrial development that forms the build of Israel and Indian Business Revolution?
-Why can't Nigeria Move with Time?
•Why Is CBN Charging High-Interest Rates - and who do they think will approach Banks to Borrow Funds at that Rate?
•Where can Farmers - get Cheap Loans Facilities at a very Minimal Interest-Rates- say 3% e g Banks CEO should be called to Order- ' give Facilities of 3% Interest Rates to Businesses in Nigeria, for its Possible and they doit it in Europe and USA,by Stimulating Investment in Local Productions- but no suggestions from Govt - but the same old Story!
•7 .Govt should Embark on Aggressive Production and Industrial Revolution - of Goods , Exports,Iron Ore Production, Agriculture Independent -like India, Vietnamese, Philippines - In Production of - 🌾 Tice,Fisheries, Chicken 🐔 Production,Cow 🐄,All Manners of Farms Produced,so that the Country can Move Forward? Is that difficult to do ?
8.Power Sector /Lights 🚨 - 24/ hours-is Dead in Nigeria- and up till now, DISCOS - is a Failure,as we are living in Darkness - at 21St Century in Nigeria and despite all the big Debt - this govt had paid, Nothing to show and they should Sack -all these Nonsense -Non- Performing Organisations and Agencies/ Ministries , including their Ministers - but Tinubu is playing Politics- as he refused to sack, even his Aides( Ministers,Advisers, etc)
Without Regular Power/ Lights in Nigeria - we can't drive Industrialization -by Importing Generators!
Please,go to Ghana and Benin-Republic - they don't use Generators Again and the Youths are becoming Restless, but if things are put in Places, the Youths are wonderful to Support the Govt- if they see seriousness of Govt too!
• Professor Soyinka- may be the President will listen to You,So,Impress it on him- that he will soon come back to seek th Votes of the People,as most of his Aides are Politicians telling him lies, they are Not technocrats - that Works for Results,so they like to tell him- what he wants to hear but that is not reality on the Masses Sides!
The earlier the better for him.
God bless Nigeria and NIGERIANS.

If you think this isn't constructive criticism enough, then you should go back and collect all the money spent on your education because it's a waste.

The way Soyinka used the analogy of bread and bullets is apt.

Blind men all of you. What did he really say? This rubbish post is as tasteless as tinubu's speech this morning.
He never critiqued the failure of the speech to address the demands of protesters. He never acknowledged tinubu's failure in reassuring the citizens of his commitment to better things. Wolysco Yinka just needed to be seen as still having breath of life as many already adjudged him brain dead. You cannot talk while you are eating. Soyinka should continue eating.
Exactly what I was looking, but couldn't find it, except unnecessary grammars all over.

He just have to save face for the next series of backlash that was being prepared for him, but still did poorly. tongue

A serious government will not spend billions of naira in providing shelter to the Vice president. A serious government will not embark on a coastal road construction when the populace are living in abject poverty. A serious government will not spend billions of naira in buying cars for government officials and the president's wife. A serious government that accepts constructive criticism would have revamped one of our moribund refineries so that the country will reduce her importation of PMS.
But when we criticize the government on most of their unpopular policies, those on the other divide will call us wailing Obi supporters.
Salewa97:
Soyinka's critique is noted, but we must also recognize that governance is a complex task. President Tinubu is navigating a challenging landscape. Let's give him time to implement reforms and address the issues raised. Constructive criticism is vital, but we must also support our leaders in finding solutions.

He just have to save face somehow to become a hero once again to his corn group.

Leverage on the protest, while systematically avoiding the mention of the economic, and government performance is the perfect way to save his pathetic face, and grey hairs.

Did Soyinka or anyone else protest during one year and three months of Jonathan's Government even though Nigerians were also complaining of hardship then? Before you start telling me things were better then please remember that each year since the 70s things seems to be getting worse.
