blacknp:Lmao…my apologies zombie. There is no hunger in the land. Food is cheap. Fuel is free especially for zombies who have agreed to remove their brains and eyes to the reality on ground just to ensure they support tinubu. Once again I’m very very sorry. We pray for more of the good work tinubu has done so far 😁😁😁 |

Bobloco:One thing I know is that Wole Soyinka is beyond the level of being ‘bought' by any Nigerian government. He has gone through so much for this nation that I know he can never be in support of a failed government as most Obidients think. Some one that was imprisoned during military era for speaking his mind/visiting Odimegwu Ojukwu during the war would now be afraid of doing the same in a democratic setting. I understand that most Ibos/Obidients dislike him because he opposes their candidate. |

Konquest:With respect to your constructive contribution, the speech failed to communicate and express the obvious to the common Nigerians. The common Nigerians want a short term solution to their grievance and the FG should have expressively state his plan to address the food shortage in the short term, though I understand that Mr. President is trying to be diplomatic enough. |

By the way, just a grammatical exercise, does anyone think that this part: My primary concern, quite predictably, is the continuing deterioration of the state’s seizure of protest management, is a double negative, and in effect, prof is saying the opposite of his intended meaning? I ran it through ChatGPT and it's inclined to think the same, but is not 100% sure. It does agree that the meaning is not clear though. Just an academic exercise o. If you don't even begin to understand, pls feel free to refrain from involvement. ![]() |

spiSeyi:Indeed, I agree with you there. Most of the average Nigerian folks on the street level are largely semi-literates and would respond BETTER to you more when they get to see your practically demonstrate what you have to offer. Some of the uninformed protesters and their leaders in Abuja and Lagos whose videos I saw are saying that Tinubu should bring back fuel subsidy or they will NOT stop the protests but this is circular thinking and highly ridiculous because even Atiku and Peter Obi all said that they would remove fuel subsidy because it wasn't sustainable economically and the fuel subsidy had been DISCONTINUED before Tinubu became the President and this is the reason why fuel subsidy WASN'T captured in the Nigerian 2023 budget. The IMPORTANT thing is to give these Nigerians "bullet points of what you have to offer" from the get-go and this is why I also stated in my first reply to your post that for the first 6 minutes, I was getting really impatient with that speech because the Nigerian President wasn't hitting the nail on the head, BUT he later did by EMPHASIZING on the free 1 million CNG conversion kits for all commercial vehicles and the deployment of the cheaper CNG which would LOWER the cost of food and transportation in the short to medium-term. That's the ONLY way that food prices will ever drop and it requires some patience by all for a period within the next 2 months by my estimation. From the feelers we are getting, it's NOT that there are "food shortages" for all crops, it's just that most Nigerian folks do NOT have disposable income to buy these highly priced foods due to hoarding and market manipulations that have led to artificial hyperinflation in several sectors. Dangote Refinery would definitely start the PMS production this August of 2024 like the management and Aliko Dangote have promised with the cheaper CNG which are also already being deployed and in my estimation, things would normalise in 2 months with prices of goods and services dropping by 60 percent. [These are some of the additional information that I expect the Nigerian President and all the Nigerian Governors to convey to Nigerians]. There is a sense of urgency because when Nigerian protests last longer than 3 days from past history since 1989, they get hijacked by looters. I remember that since the 1989 anti-SAP riots during General Ibrahim Babangida's time which I witnessed, the violence and lootings have persisted in every Nigerian protest which are supposedly meant to be peaceful. The violence and LOOTINGS under the cover of protests in the North started right from the first day with the viral photograph of a criminal in Kano using a machete to destroy a brand new street light built with tax-payers money. |
