There's this claim by Yorubas that the south west is the best of the regions in Nigeria and other regions depend on the southwest.

Is this claim anywere realistic?

Only probably the Core northerners( Hausa serfs) and a large number of igbos really depends on the southwest.

The Middlebelt does not depend on the southwest,neither does the SOUTH south( the areas of minority tribes)

Most middlebeltans majorly converge in Abuja,while south southerners are mostly in their own cities in their respective states.

Only the igbos,and core northerners ( especially Hausa serfs and kanuri) find succor in the southwest.

The southwesterners are also in large numbers in the Middlebelt of which they have tribal links , indigenous to some middlebelt areas like in lokoja,Ilorin.
Then go to areas like jos,markudi,keffi,Abuja,suleja etc,you'll find growing number of southwesterners who have lived there for ages and are increasing, ekeing out daily bread.

I agree the igbos have to do better,they are too dependent on other regions for their survival not just the southwest.

In conclusion, it's very clear and evident that the southwest is not better than the Middlebelt and south south.

LAGOS is an enclave built by Nigeria and NIGERIANS and not the southwest.

Believe it or not, the South West is by far the richest and most prosperous region in Nigeria. Figures don't lie neither do they care about emotions. Go online - jobs created in Lagos and Ogun alone by far outnumber jobs seen anywhere else in the country.

As for the Igbos depending on other regions, that's totally true and it started after the civil war when the FG stopped making major investments in the East. If you go from Rivers to Lagos to Abuja, you see huge FG investments in these places, but you rarely see FG investments in the South East. This explains the mass exodus of Igbos from the East in search of opportunities. Nigeria is a country that has no regards for equity, fairness and justice.

Even your grandfather and grandmother know that fact about the south west. Maybe you should go back home and re-ask them or ask your immediate parents,; they will answer you rightly. Why asking by the way, are you frustrated with that fact? When your region is always under lock, key and kill; why won't you be frustrated about growing region? You better agree with yourself to leave with that fact as your region about beginning another one month lock, key and kill from your remote prime minister and president general of Biafra nation.

Abuja and pH as growing number of jobs too and are catching up despite LAGOS headstart

Of course, the South West is on another level. Just look at the progress, while some regions are still stuck in the past, trying to catch up like Peter Obi chasing shadows. It's not just about the talk, it's about the action.

The fact that you guys wake up everyday thinking about Lagos and SW tells a lot about who is leading by all indices.

The SW has always been ahead of the other parts of Nigeria.
Part of the problems we are facing today stemmed from the military who thought they could develop the country at the same pace, thereby making it a unitary state.
Left alone, the western Nigeria would have been competing with the likes of South Korea or at least Singapore or Malaysia.

That one started few years ago and hasn't touched most parts of SS, NC and NE.
