Let's discuss. Because frankly I feel for Tinubu, I wast he da video my friend sent to me from Abuja and you could hear the youths telling the army to take over in Hausa , they were calling for a coup .

I feel this ain't the way forward.

This protest was called to get the government to reduce the price of fuel right ?

I feel this is something urgent to be done to stop the protests or what do you think ?

For me the president should do the following immediately

1. Reduce fuel pump price to N250 . Maybe I suggest by immediately pumping crude to dangote refinery

2. Fix the dollar Nairaland exchange rate N300 to $1

If he does these 2 things I am sure no one will care if he rules for 8 years

Please anyone with suggestions who knows , we may come up with a suggestion to help the situation here .. because I don't think a regime change is necessary at all.

That would be so unfair to the president, yes he stole mandate but haba ,let us be reasonable small mbok..

The videos are all over X, and there's something about a 'single narrative' (or adulation if you like): it is ENTICING. And the people who form the bulk of the Armed Forces are those who have no ethnic loyalty to this government. You can't expect them to use force on their people as an alternative. The only remedy is to reverse the removal of fuel subsidy (maybe for initial 6 month), and then he'll say the government will use the period to work out what is sustainable. That might give him a lifeline if he acts fast. However, the sycophants around him will not allow him see the truth.

This was what you guys said since last week I hear nothing has changed see we should all be praying for this nation oh.

This thing is getting out of hand let's put head together and suggest solutions never know who in power that might tell ideas here and take them
Re: Open Discussion: Please No Insults , The Protest And The Way Forward Suggestions by helinues: 4:23pm On Aug 05, 2024
The continuation of the protest would also cause more destructions of properties and lost of lives which eventually, the protest itself won't achieve anything .

The Kenyans some Nigerians want to emulate their protest, what did their protest achieve?

Their tribes men was appointed into the government and that was it, not even any of the protesters got appointment or any promises from the Kenya government

Sometimes I think he's in over his head too, but it's the lack of empathy in his demeanor or utterances that makes people think otherwise. Again, he chose loyal but incompetent people over those that have competence and integrity. Believe me, if he had a good team, things wouldn't have been this bad. All he has are praise singers.
Re: Open Discussion: Please No Insults , The Protest And The Way Forward Suggestions by Parable007: 4:24pm On Aug 05, 2024
The best way to protest in Nigeria is not to come out to protest but to sit and home and pause this country.

Complete Decentralization is the only solution. All the incompetent governors and legislators are hiding under the FG due to over centralization.

On August 29 2023, Tinubu’s government promised to create 50 million jobs and revive the economy.

This is almost one year. Where is the economic revival? Where are the jobs? At least 16 million jobs should be created by now.

Re: Open Discussion: Please No Insults , The Protest And The Way Forward Suggestions by Gotocourt: 4:30pm On Aug 05, 2024
The federal government should charter 2k, yes 2000 two thousand C-130 cargo planes for immediate shipments of food i.e rice, oil, flour, beans within the next 24hrs using various Airport across the country to flood the entire nation markets with cheap food for 200naira per mudu or 500naira per painter

Tinubu should apologize to Nigerians for telling us he bought the presidential seat. That's very rude and insultive to our person. See Akpabio talking like the tout he is, Bayo onauaga is another idiot.
Remove Naira floating - I don't know what's difficult in given dollars in ATM cards . The most stupid thing Asiwaju BAT is naira devaluation

Allow Dangote petrol to flood the market - Tinubu messed up fighting this man

Insecurity - massive and rapid attack and execution of bandits

Cabinets - He should sack his ministers, particularly Bello Matawalle. Bandit Bello Turji has called him out on social media. It's not hard, bad guys don't lie. E get why

I disagree, our useless leaders will love it more. This occupation (protest) is the best. See how politicians want to take glory of low turn out of protesters on Saturday and Sunday. The fools are saying it has ended. But more states are joining particularly in the north.
See the nonsense chief Dave Umahi is saying, he's taking the glory of south east avoiding the protest.
Leaves matters. Our leaders are Pigs and you need to get dirty to face them💯

Each state should control their own resources and oay a small percentage to Abuja.
States will developed by fire by force

My brother bought apart from the suggestions I give up earlier what else do you think can work because I feel if he can restore subsidy stop this fake scam subsidy of power would they claim god 650 billion now that is nonsense patrol subsidy to help the people then pick the Naira visit at least say 200 or 250 per dollar the economy would wake up again now

Start refining crude oil locally with immediate effect.
Subsidise the cost of crude supplied to local refineries.

When energy costs comes down, things will get cheaper.

The other thing is, deal with the bandits terrorising the farmers, then cost of foodstuffs will reduce as more farmers will resume farming.

Anything outside of these is a waste of time and space.

Is Tinubu and his government to do these rather than invest in propaganda?

Sound ideas but do you know what baffles me why it is seems so hard for tinubu to make the simple steps I just don't understand

Perhaps he has the interest of the neo-colonialists to protect.

They’ve got so much dirt on him.

And he’s got his personal interests to protect as well. Sadly at the expense of over 220 million Nigerians. But sorry, that can’t work this time.

Will hungry and angry Nigerians wait till 2027? Almost everyone is on survival instinct and on the edge.
Sri Lanka and just today - Bangladesh.

It’s no longer business as usual I’m afraid.

Think about it. What is the priority of a starving human and animal? To obey law and order OR to satisfy their hunger.

I was speaking mainly in terms of the ideal hoping that we Nigeria's could just be a bit patient till 2027 but alas reality beckons truly as you have stated.

The people do not seem patient enough to wait till 2027 and I'm so afraid for tinubu that is advisors are pushing him into the gallows he may eventually get kicked out of that seat the way they protests are going it is right is really frightening

Are Tinubu and his cabinet under a spell?
At times I wonder if there is credence to the room or that the west is somehow controlling via blackmail to make sure that he only makes policies that favor them because I don't understand why it's so hard for him to just do the right thing to make the life of the people better.

I mean I just read this below article now now my heart just broke to pieces

https://www.nairaland.com/8176196/breaking-student-started-receiving-alert

Don't you realize that it is things like this that is fueling the protest ?
people can see through this looting schemes.

The advisor who came up with this stupid idea should be sacked I mean what sort of rubbish is this? oh my goodness
