BENUE GOVT FLAGS OFF DISTRIBUTION OF 10,000 NURSERY PALM TREES TO YOUTHS

Alia's Youth Legacy Project for Benue people especially the youths got flagged up yesterday in Makurdi for the youths to acquire stands of palm tree and plant to become millionaires in future.

Addressing the crowd, the initiator and organiser of the event, The Senior Special Assistant to the Executive Governor of Benue state On Youth Mobilization and empowerment/State Youth Leader, Hon. Mkeenem Moses, FIMC, CMC, said the palm trees produces 3 times a year and has seen the need to bring the youths to get some stands and become millionaires in future.

On his part, the chairman of the occasion, Chief. Sen. Barnabas Gemade, who was represented by the former speaker of Benue State house of assembly and the commissioner for Youth, sports and Creativity, Hon Terkimbi Ikyange encouraged youths to take the project seriously, saying he had planted some palm trees about 13 years ago and they are yielding high based on commendation he is getting from people who are benefiting from it.

Hon. Ikyange thanked the Youth Leader, Hon Mkeenem for taking the project to the door steps of the youths, saying it's going to make them millionaires in a nearby future and thanked the Governor of Benue State, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, for the initiative while he donated 500 stands as his own contribution.

Also speaking, the commissioner for finance, Chief Michael Oglegba, appreciated Gov. Alia for the project and thanked Hon. Mkeenem for bringing youths to partake of the initiative saying any moment from then, Benue Youths would not be idle but millionaires and donated 1000 stands to enable every one get it.

During the occasion, the wife of the speaker Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Chief. Mrs Cynthia Kundumiyol Aondona Dajo who represented her husband the Speaker, spoke in the same direction and also contributed her quota.

Some of the stands were given to leaders of the Alia Generation Central Youth of Zone A, Zone B and C while every youth at the scene was able to get some free stands to plant and be rich in future.

Finally, the host, Hon Mkeenem, thanked the Executive Governor of Benue State, His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his service to the Benue youth. He also appreciated Engr. Chief, Sylvester Ghasarah and called on the Benue people in diaspora to support the project for the benefits of Benue Youths.

This is a very good initiative especially for the lazy BENUE youths who believe so much in cultism and stealing from non Tiv people around them.

Efforts should equally be made to start discouraging them from too much believe in " makwa

This is commendable from Benue government. They should make sure it's a transparent process.
