Why are living Apartments in other countries very different from the way we build our apartment in Nigeria?

Town planning is the missing aspect in the haphazard designs we have. But there are other reasons.

This European compact style is hard to maintain in places without electricity , security and other infrastructure

It will quickly turn into a ghetto
The style also allows for insulation due to winter. We don’t need insulation in nigeria hence the wide open spaces. Talking about space, we have more land than most European countries.

But 1004 estate in Lagos was patterned somewhat in this jam packed format

Developers, Engineers and Town Planners please this thread need your inputs and answers. So i have been having this thoughts in my mind as to why we build rental houses the way we do in Nigeria. You will see 1 plot of land housing 2 storey building with 6 flats filled with tenants and painted with yellow color and behind that house is another 1 plot of land with fence, housing a 3 storey building painted in grey color and facing a different angle. The same unorganized pattern repeats on and on.

Different people with different lifestyle..

Stop feeling inferior. We can’t all be doing things the same way..

Frankly one of the things i enjoy when i watch foreign movies (Hollywood) are the beautiful sights of well laid out apartments. The apartments are usually several storeys high and they often stretch from a long distance

Weather consideration part of it

Normally you can't compare that side to Nigeria na

The apartments are usually painted with white colour or sometimes any bright color. Most of them dont have corridors like the way we build in Nigeria. You will see the streets how they are well designed in a neat way, the streets may be paved with tar or interlocks and it will look so neatly done; the kerbs, lawns in a straight line.

Why is it that in Nigeria we don't build house for rent in this way like we see in Europe?

I find it hard to figure out why we dont build housses in such a way it will be orderly and beautiful to the eyes.

It's like asking why there are OPEN GUTTERS everywhere in Nigeria, but you can't even find one in all the pictures you posted.

Then ask why awon dem Helinues and his fellow crass people will be asking "what is dis one problem with gutter again, when people are discussing serious things", chai

Then the other crass Nigerians that would be shouting "blame the people for putting garbage inside the gutter"

This is Nigeria bruv.

We are fighting daily for a better country, while awon Reno, Helinues and the other Team Evil dem are fighting for Nigeria to get worse.

Consider the fact these locations are some of the places you can see well built houses in Nigeria yet they are nowhere to compare to What is obtained in Europe or even some African countries.

Nigeria need to have steady light first. All of those tall buildings in Europe have Elevators. But here in Nigeria you will use stairs to climb 5 decking. We can’t have such buildings here in Nigeria without electricity and the Govt also are not doing there job well with town planning.

1004 estate in VI. We dont have maintenance culture to run those houses hahah. There is also monthly maintenance dues, the one that is yearly in many estates in Nigeria do people pay?
