Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, over the weekend commissioned a kilometer-long road built by Anambra-born billionaire, High Chief Emeka Hamilton Ezeonu (Ikemba Nnobi), in Nnobi, Idemili South Local Government Area.

Chief Ezeonu, renowned for his philanthropy, also recently renovated the General Hospital Nnobi, constructed doctors' quarters within the hospital premises and built security towers at the Nnobi Police Station. His contributions to the security architecture of Nnobi have been adjudged substantial by many, even as he also provided modern roofing for the Ifite Ogbeadiji Village Hall.

Speaking while commissioning the road, Governor Soludo praised Chief Ezeonu for his unwavering commitment to the development of Nnobi and Anambra State at large. He highlighted the billionaire, while also commending his efforts in transforming the community through various infrastructural projects, describing him as a beacon of hope and inspiration for others.

The Governor, while noting that government alone cannot develop everywhere at the same time, urged other well-meaning individuals to emulate the Ezeonu's philanthropic spirit and contribute to the growth and progress of their communities.

Earlier in his remarks, Chief Ezeonu explained that his motivation to embark on these projects stemmed from his desire to give back to his community and improve the quality of life for its residents. He further expressed his gratitude to the Soludo-led administration in Anambra for her visible impacts and efforts in propelling the developmental wheel of the State, while also assuring of continued efforts and support to help move the state forward.

In addition to his infrastructural projects, Ikemba Nnobi has made significant strides in the area of empowerment, as he recently provided over 500 helmets and reflective jackets to cyclists in Nnobi, ensuring their safety and that of their passengers, and reducing road accidents in the community.

Also, on her own part, the wife of the benefactor has been actively involved in supporting the general development of the Nnobi community and beyond, and just recently donated a cassava processing machine to the women of Nnobi, along with industrial grinding machines; as well as organized numerous free health outreach programs in the community.

In their separate interviews with this reporter, some of the community members lauded Chief Ezeonu's philanthropic endeavours, noting that his contributions and those of his wife have brought about significant positive changes in Nnobi, hailing him for being a true son of the soil.

Aside the community members, the event was also witnessed by many dignitaries and top government functionaries who joined voice to cheer up benefactors, Ezeonu and his wife for yet another batch of philanthropic gestures and selfless services to humanity.

Let me guess, Mr. Billionaire Philantrophist is now looking to dive headlong into politics come, say 2027, abi? I ask because this is Nigeria after all where mago-mago people dey use shine-shine things dey cover people's eye. By the time they finally enter into politics, na so the people go pay for all that shine-shine wey he give them before, through the nose as him go steal, kill, and destroy them every chance he is given. No need to look far at all to find examples of such in Nigeria.

Anambra state already had money given to the LG to build/repair that very same 1km which my billionaire philanthropist says he repaired for free on behalf of the people. Where does the LG now plan to divert those funds?

That's the mistake you guys keep making, that's how some Africans slow down development, same thing I've heard and seen a lot of politicians do, you want to take all the glory for the development in the state thereby stopping people from contributing into the development.

Or wanting to eat from projects that individuals can willingly do without the input of the government, Are you working for the development of the state and the benefit of the people or just for your glory even if it will affect the state negatively?

UGM = ronus/agbadox. We will catch you people day, umu ekwensu. Igbo people, pay attention how they always reference UGM when something good is happening in SE because they know the aim of it is to destabilize the region, create insecurity and scare people from investing, ultimately preventing Igbos from progressing. They are also the first to post UGM fresh killing pictures. I got your point, it's not bad, If I was in his shoes I will do much more, as long as it is to develop the state and for the benefit of the people, bring it on, I will pass policies that will encourage individuals take on various projects in the state, let the development be as fast as possible...

What is his source of income ? Which businesses is he in charge of ? how did he become a billionaire ? Until we start asking necessary questions instead of worshipping money and spender without caring where the money comes from, Nigeria will remain backward.

Most of these so called unknown billionaire are also in collude with the government to loot your destiny and fleece your generation then do one or two charity work with peanut and the so call people will praise him to high heaven. That's if he's not even in more bloody and dastard crimes.

It is only in Nigeria someone can become a billionaire without being known and the businesses he is doing to make that kind of money, in USA, UK, France, Spain etc for example you can not become a billionaire without people not knowing about you and the business you are into, that says a lot about how nefarious and how corrupt we are here.

This is very common in Anambra state! There may be no political intent behind it. Wealthy igbos are known for doing roads and building infrastructure in their localities.
