Hezzyluv:Spot on! His efforts are being frustrated because too much $$$ is involved, the eating goes all the way to the Villa. If the refinery is allocated the required crude, the eating stops. Quoting him, the Oil Mafia is stronger and more lethal than the drug cartels. Its quite sad what's happening in Nigeria. The country I grew up in and enjoyed life... |

PHAYOL81:Nigerians consume about 60 million liters per day as of 2023, that's approximately 400,000 barrel of oil per day. If Dangote's refinery is only producing 600,000 barrels per day, what will it do with it's obligation to refine oil for international clients? Even if efficiency was increased to 100% WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE as the best refineries in the world only operate at 80 to 90% capacity). How much of that 600,000 barrels per day will go to Nigerians rather than international clients where more money is made? Whether we like it or not, we need at least 3 of such refineries to reap full benefits! The U.S has over 130, U.K has at least 6 and South Korea at least 5.........What makes you think one refinery can service Nigeria's oblgations? |

We hv crude oil but we were importing refined petroleum products because we have no refineries. Now that we have a refinery, we've started importing crude oil to refine. |

omowolewa:Vested interests. The same criminals that grounded our refineries are still at work to frustrate Dangote. |
| Re: 10 Largest Refineries In The World by PHAYOL81: 11:43pm On Aug 06, 2024 |
abbey621:I doubt Nigeria consume anything around 60 million litres per day. The number is between 30/33 million litres which is well short of the 53million litres dangote refinery would produce (of PMS). A monthly consumption rate or better put, our regular monthly importation of PMS data stands at an average of 1billion litres. So with the refinery configure to produce 53million litres everyday, it should be able to produce close to 1.6million litres monthly which covers our need and still leaves around 500million litres for FX generation. Remember, a chunk of the number we import (in PMS)are smuggled out through our leaking borders. Besides, Dangote refinery ain't alone in the business in the country. We have many modular plants to help out and hopefully, some ongoing construction to help too even if we have to accept the national refineries are doomed never to function. And to further correct another misinformation, Dangote refinery is 650k bpd capacity, not 600k. |

| Re: 10 Largest Refineries In The World by asala1: 12:00am On Aug 07, 2024 |
Ojiofor:Work was not put in those refineries. They are all running on inshalla, just like the rest of Nigeria. Dangote has 4 cement plants operating at full capacity in Nigeria and 10 other plants operating in the rest of Africa, including in Cameroon, Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia. All these were built in the last 2 decade. Why will anyone think that his oil refinery that was built with $20 billion won’t work? That’s just wishful thinking. |

Ojiofor:Are you one of those enemies? Check the construction dates for each of the 10 refineries. You'll see that Dangote's refinery is the most recent. The Dangote refinery has been completed and, based on capacity calculations, it is considered one of the largest. It is currently dealing with some minor logistics issues that are expected to be resolved soon. Those who doubt its success will soon be proven wrong. |
