If it indeed happened as reported, then I think its just a funny way of passing a lesson.

Like u rightly said, Arteta himself needs the lesson more than the players. I believe the players already have the right mentality . He(Arteta) owes us to do better in his managerial decision making in "tough matches" too.

Also, he has no excuse not signing a worthy deputy for Saka. In fact, I think that should be the sole focus of the team once they wrap this Merino deal up. Not signing a deputy for Saka can actually cost us more than not signing a traditional CF this season
You see that Saka own na him I Dey pray make e reason. After this long, there is no way we should be going into the upcoming season without a worthy deputy for Saka.

We have seen this over and over again. He starts hot, stays hot, starts to slow down, especially during international breaks and can barely stay on his feet or beat his man ant end when we need him most.

If he doesn’t believe in Nelson, we need to move on and find a worthy deputy like we have Trossard on the other side. I don’t like the Vieira on the right experiment, that guy is not serious.

lolz.

That’s just the wishful opinion of the author of that tweet.

If Arteta wanted to sign a traditional CF like Halaand, he would’ve done that by now and we won’t be having this discussion.

Arteta is more concerned about the shape of his team and their playing style. I doubt he’s willing to buy a traditional CF that will spend most of the game isolated upfront.

The fact that Arsenal scored 91 league goals to city’s 96 last season without having a traditional CF in the right sense of the word makes it obvious that Arteta is not really bothered about goal scoring . He probably believes signing a traditional CF will involve him tinkering with his formation and will most likely affect the entire team’s performance .

Haven't we passed the 91goals talk by now?

How do u think Top management decisions are taken?

If as a manager u go to the management team that u need a new striker and then ur last season result showed u scored 91 goals (the second most goals in the league that season); do u think the management will take u serious?

How will u justfiy that even without a proven traditional CF u scored 91 goals(which is an improvement on the 88 goals in 2022-2023 season) and then striker must be signed instead of strengthening the team in other more critical areas like Saka's deputy ?

I also don't fancy Vieria on that right, he's more of an Odegaard deputy than Saka deputy.

As for Nelson ehn, personally I wish he can be paid off and let him go ply his trade elsewhere. The guy just dey occupy space like matter

No, you miss the point.

He is the best finisher on the team based on how long I’ve seen him play for us.

My reference to the training video is to emphasize on the fact that Arteta is focused on improving the effectiveness of the teams strikers rather than outright purchase of a new striker as we have been clamoring on.

Are you happy now?
Trossard being our best finisher shouldn’t be a debate at all. This is how I rate the boys:

Trossard- best finisher
Saka- highest IQ
Ordegarrd- most accurate shot
Nelli- Speedster
Jesus- great link-up player
Harvertz- Spy can help us grin

It actually happened.

He was trying to pass a message after losing the title to City after leading the table. In his thoughts, the players got too comfortable, lost focus which ultimately cost us the prize.

My own is that, I just hope the pickpocket team picked his own pocket because he is the biggest culprit when it comes to a lack of awareness.
Why nah😂😂😂

I think that getting a striker will add more value to the team than getting a backup winger for Saka.

Currently there's no traditional striker in the squad (with Nketiah likely to leave) and this makes the team playing pattern very predictable. With a true quality striker, we can have Jesus as backup winger if he isn't starting.

Secondly, substituting Saka will always be a rare occasion and it will never be tactical but rather a way to rest him. So why waste fund for a player that will not add any tactical advantage?

My opinion

Havertz is the space controller.

If you understand quantum physics, he is what is called Dark Matter. It controls 95% of everything we see yet we can see it or explain how it does.

Well, for starters we didn’t lose the league last season because because of non-availability of strikers . In fact, we scored our most leagues in the EPL history 2023/2024 (the same season we didn’t have a traditional CF).

Now talking about wasting of fund on Saka’s deputy, I don’t agree it is a waste of funds in any way. In fact, I believe if Saka had a quality deputy we wouldn’t have ended the season without at least FA cup or the other cup ( whatever name they call it now cos it’s like almost every season they change the name ).

A deputy for Saka will greatly help us in cup matches like last group games in UCL when Saka is supposed to be resting , FA cup matches till maybe semi final and final.

Every EPL team knew our tactics last season yet, that was the same season we won our most league games(28) in the EPL era.

Arteta’s tactics does not really require a traditional CF to bang in goals . The tactics require the front 3 to be at their best playing fluid football and That can only be improved on if we have a worthy deputy for Saka who can stand in for him like Trossard/Martinelli on the left wing.

If we are to draw up a scale of preference , I would say we need Saka’s deputy more than a traditional CF since as of today Nketiah is still an Arsenal player

Gave two assists and scored a goal Vs Leverkusen playing first as an AM and then as false 9.

Yes now. If Nketiah leaves then we will certainly get a replacement for him as well as a deputy for Saka.

If Nketiah stays however , Arteta should prioritize getting Saka deputy before any other thing.

I have seen Nathan's ability since to be sure he should replace ESR
But Lewis skelly is the real deal for me, he's playing with confidence
Arteta keep playing this lad as a lb and he still show no sign that's not his position is good
Imagine building this boy to the way of partey or rice and even jourghino
Talking of jourghino the way he went out yesterday look like someone frustrated or injured
Absolutely… Skelly is right there with Nwaneri in terms of development. He has the confidence, positional awareness and most importantly, he has total control of his body and knows how to use it.

I am with you about playing him in his natural DM position but yesterday, I think he was inverting from the LB into the middle. I hope we can see him in cup games. Nwaneri and Skelly are ready for some first team integration, it is sad we lost Duberry because he is right there with both.

He is the only player I’ve seen new words being generated to mask his poor performances. If he is not interpreting spaces today, he is controlling it. If he is not shadow attacking, he is sucking defenders in (like I’m supposed to do that). And when he misses chances upon chances (like his partner in crime G.Jesus) he gets excused for not being a striker and that he covers up for that by interpreting space. 😂

He will turn up in one or two matches or maybe score a goal when we are already two goals up, then his people won’t let us rest. He is one lucky player because many players don’t get that kind of luxury.

Arteta is doing this and that only to plays Havertz in all matches when he has no business playing, especially in that midfield. What’s the point.

Anyways, I just hope our wingers will keep turning up to cover up for him or perhaps, he turns up for at least 60% of the season.

Who cut soap for Boehly? He should keep signing 18-year olds abeg.

Pedro Neto is someone I would really like to have at Arsenal. He has that potential to really push Saka. A good x-factor and one-man attacker. However, he has one issue - injury.

Not just Arteta but Nagelsmann too. Havertz was the main attacker in Germany Euros squad. Can you explain why he is so revered?

This is quite reassuring.

I don't know much about Skelly but I was really impressed with him playing LB. Knowing that he is even a DM already is giving me goose bumps 😆 - perfect backup for Zinchenko and whatever tinkering Arteta will want to do.

No sir

After his initial goal drought......Harvetz turned up in almost all games....always gave us the lead or winning goal.

He's a support striker with intelligence.

Even though I'll acknowledge that he really turned up for us when he played Cf, — which I believe it's the only position he can effectively play— I find it funny when new terms are always invented because of him.

I've always believed he just have this kinda grace cos normally, I never see the hype that makes coach (esp Arteta) wants to kill themselves because of him. Like he's the kind of player that they prefer to play him in another position if he's underwhelming instead of outright benching that most players suffer from. cheesy cheesy

Lol... I believe most of these players are very perfect in training for them to get these attributes even though most might not bring it to the live stadium

I once saw an interview of Jorgi when describing Havertz (not when they were in Chelsea oo) and he was saying the most deceptive player is Havertz. That you'll think he's not strong but you can't bully him off the ball or you'd be surprised when with his lanky frame he'll just bully you off the ball. You'd think he's not fast but you'll be surprised by his speed. You'd think he's not creative but he gives passes they in training are surprised at.

Omorr, I was just watching the small clip and I was just thinking in my head "when him dey do all these things"?? grin grin
