There's drought presently in some states in Nigeria, many farmers are crying because of the seizure of the rain which is affecting their crops.

As a farmer, how are you coping and which measures have you taken?

Hmmmmm,

One golden thing i learnt this year is data, I met a local farmer that showed me a collection of 1page calenders for all the locations his farms are, he just ticks the day it rains in dat area and this has been the tool he uses to time his planting.....

What his calender revealed to me is Golden,from dat day onward, i have started marking mine

I was still telling my friends last week that we have two times more rain (if not more ) last year than this year. I mean look at August, it's only rained once this month in my area. A supposed month for daily rainfall. angry

I had to go and monitor the guard on my site and ensure he waters the fruit crops I planted there. I instructed him to give each plant at least 2-3 medium cups of water daily until the rains resume falling. I went there yesterday and we both watered the fruit crops. There is nothing like rain o. Rain has carbons and other nutrients in it that helps plants grow quickly. Please, try and water plants in your garden daily. God will bring back the rains soon. Amen .

And caused by the stupid herdsmen who are wiping out communities for their cows to eat peoples farm.

This picture here is a farmer's nightmare. When the rains return, the stalks will progress and produce maize. Time of harvest, you will harvest truckloads of agadi nwanyi (cobs with scanty grains). It particularly happens if the drought occurs just as the stalks are producing cubs.
