It's mission impossible to try and convince the youth to continue to be Christians when being Christians didn't benefit their parents nor helped them out of poverty. |

ultim:That's the devil's strategy. People really don't know the far reaching effects of bad leadership. The devil uses our politicians impoverished, emasculated,... and in the end the weak among the populace have to make a choice of holding unto their feeble faith or choosing what seems to be the easy way out. |

Nnamdi Kanu, I want you released today today. I appreciate the things you said about Nigeria that have proven true before our very eyes. But this right here is one of your bad legacies. Igbo youths embracing idol worship is a backward step. I dislike it |

The Igbo youths did an economic analysis between Christianity and idol worshiping. As an Igbo man( money chaser), the don't get to spend much in idol worshiping compared to Christianity where 10% and several other offerings is given occasionally. Besides, their forefathers were traditional worshippers and their businesses still successful. So what again. How can you convince them to return to Christianity. |

let's be radical hereOur forefathers worshipped these lesser gods (chi) because they believed that they were messengers for the supreme God (Chukwu), and during their time we never heard of stealing being rampant. If you did you'll be banished and given instant judgement. We never heard of raping of women of course if you did Amadioha or Ikenga would strike you dead. We never heard of a serious case of outbreak of diseases or epidemic, if anyone occured the gods would cleanse the land We never heard of LGBTQ during the time of our forefathers People feared and respected themselves because of the fear of the gods. Despite being the ancient times our forefathers lived very long healthy and peacefully. No one shouted Emilokan, no bribery, the elders governed themselves peacefully. Until Christianity came, we abandoned our culture, embraced a foreign culture that thought us to do strange things, worship only a White imaginary person called Jesus, they now depicted a black person like us with horns and called him the 😈 devil or Satan, they gave us a fictional book with recorded history of their lives without any mention of a black person and called it the Bible. They made us believe that you'll burn in hell for enternity if you don't believe in an Imaginary white man called Jesus. They told us he is the only salvation if you believe and drink his blood. They told us that even if you steal, kill, rape and destroy humanity that even in your dying bed if you just accept Jesus Christ as your only lord and personal savior all your sins are forgiven instantly and you'll go to paradise and enjoy with the saints. Then for us that have been respecting our gods and living a prosperous crime free lives we would die and perish in hell all because we don't believe in Jesus Christ.. Chai. Now crime don plenty, people steal without conscience, people rape even babies Man now turn into woman and vice versa. Man marries man woman marries woman of course it's okay as long as you give your life to Christ before you die all sins are forgiven...... My take.. Christianity is for the weak, they white man used Christianity to weaken us and steal from us. I believe in God( Chukwu ) but I don't believe in Jesus... |

Tjra:you will be surprised when you visit the southeast and go to the deepest villages and see the type of houses this people build,I am an igboman but sometimes I am astonished by the type of houses and investments people can do in their villages,it is incredible, the love for money and material things is fueling the rmass return to traditional religion,it has made the prices of local chicken and goat used for sacrifices to skyrocket. The Christians really need to worry because they now have a strong competitor in traditional religion |

TUCHELseaTeam:The best legacy. From where Kanu stopped, others have picked it up and are running and blazing with it. Others like Jonathan, Chibuikem, Methuselah, Matthias Ezeaku etc... That one na only for Igbo land o. Don't want to even mention for other regions. See lemme tell u, no one is saying completely jettison xtianity. But the time has come for intensive research and deep questioning. The time of just saying "if you don't believe in so so and so -- hell straight" is over. Only few adults are going to buy that sh*t anymore. Also realise that this is the time of social media and such medium is giving people the boldness to overcome that guilt-tripping and condemnation you xtians and muslims are very fond of doing. This is a shake-up era. In order to sound convincing and spell-binding, the bible went too far in and of itself, and that will be its undoing as time unwinds. To explain, the bible gives signs for jesus' return. All the events leading up to his return as well as on that day seem to evoke some strong form of emotions. But here is what will happen: people will wait and wait. But you and I know there is no jesus returning anywhere. In fact the internet will remain. Newer generations would watch older videos and debates of their recent ancestors and become even more questioning. They wouldn't be like this current generation that are trying to go against the grain but are still under restrain due to the stigma. Miracles don't work and people are now daring the pastors. Example VDM vs Jeremiah. Ezeaku vs Obi. Tani Olohun vs Ilorin imams. Pastors that people held in high esteem are now being challenged for their outlandish speech or their political meandering. For example, adeboye saying he stopped snow in USA, or he drank tea with god. Or his affinity with apc. People now openly criticise these kind of pastors more than it was in the early 2000's, and our kids of today are online seeing everything. It will keep dwindling and dwindling. More and more people will return back to their roots out of curiousity. Many, due to finding solutions to their problems -- and alot will also be unsatisfied. Others out of sheer honour to our ancestors' ways and the preservation of our own originality and identity will stick to it regardless. This will occur far more in southern nigerian than in the north because of the slight liberal nature of the southerners. In latter centuries, many would become agnostic / atheistic and generally liberal. People would still go to church but that too would just be like for legacy purpose or just on the surface. Just for going sakes. In fact, it would be like nigerians who go to church in UK and USA. Just for connection, association, socialisation, something to unite people, and preserve some modicum of morality. Just a more respectable alternative to the benefits of going to something like a club. That's all. |
