I know Kaduna State will be among those yet to set up the minimum wage panel.

Uba Sani is the worst governor in Nigeria. He is not concern about state workers warfare. Even when Bola Tinubu asked the governors to pay their workers wages, this useless Governor refused to implement it, saying the state does not have money.

Nothing is happening in Kaduna State

Short term, the only way the states can find enough cash for minimum wage is taxes, or the government totally removes subsides on petrol, allowing price of fuel to rise to N1700, 200 of which is taxes (as suggested elsewhere on this site by another nairalander), and power, which means everyone, not just band A pays N210 per kwh or more, OR.....we take another loan for projects, and use the freed up cash for salaries....and hope oil rises up to 140 dollars per barrel

Long term, we become an exporter of manufactred goods and services, with the benefit that we can set prices for manufactured goods and servicies....which is part of why subsidy must go so that our refineries function at full profit and we can be a major exporter of refined products like engine oil.
what are you saying?

And Obaseki has started paying the minimum wage ever before FG made up their minds to start paying. And some would say that Obaseki is not working. Oshiomole did roads but the workers suffered cried and died especially pensioners during his tenure. But worker in Benin are even better paid than FG workers.

The 70, 000 Naira new minimum wage is bad news for Lagos civil servants

The civil servant thought the president will approve at least 100,000 as the state was already paying 35,000 naira wage award which they knew would eventually be added as the new minimum wage

So since the payments of wage award started in January loans have consumed it, 70,000 minimum wage now appears meaningless
Expecting your analysis of minimum wage of Abia state that is still paying and owing N18,000 as well.

Setting up panel for mere 70k minimum wage. But state governors and Thiefffnubuu can't set panels for outrageous retirement benefits for just 4 to 8years in the office. Bunch of criminals!

I do not support violence but pray I never see you near the corridors of power. You want to punish 95% of Nigerians for 5% that are employed in the formal sector.

Prof. Charles C. Soludo is number one Anti-Workers' welfare governor. Since inception in Office no promotion of state civil servants, nothing substantial said or in working to implement the 70k minimum wage, Lobbies State House of Assembly Members against positive course in favor of Worker's welfare and uses deceptive gimmicks of productivity in pally with wage at his public advantage of people's emotions.
That's a pure lie ,Abia State should take dt position at least Anambra pays 30k old minimum while Abia couldn't pay it and yet remove tax from d workers anyhow ,bikonu go and clarify that .Anyway those Niger Delta governors don't have any reason not to pay 70k with their huge allocations and minimal workforce

Which Anambra is paying 30k minimum wage? Pure lies! Currently Anambra State Workers are on 24k Minimum Wage. How can you describe a situation where a Grade level 14 Civil Servant monthly Salary in Anambra State is below 70k? or do you still think Anambra State is paying 30k minimum wage when GL.08 step2 salary is around 35k? Please, tell me which salary structure and format are they using? What I see is highest level of sycophancy which the governor; both previous and present had turned few top public Servants and state Labour leaders to preach in glorifying their oppressor who's the governor at the expense of gullible civil servants who had gone feeble to demand for their rights and welfare.
Previous Administrations in Anambra State kept increasing meager percentage on take home pay, not even computed on basic salary structure and deployed media to continue to make big pronouncement of mischief wickedness.

No governor should be allowed to pay anything less than the minimum wage, because they're big thieves, they can't pay but can steal, the labour leaders and the government should sit down and look at the income from the federal government and internal revenue together and check what is the monthly wage bill, they should follow them bumper to bumper, thieves

[quote author=Aroyjunior post=131445879]This Lagos people Sha
Minimum wage or wage award which one.

There's a huge difference between minimum wage of 70k and wage award of 70k as the wage award is uniform award of 70k across board to all workers but in minimum wage, the least worker's basic minimum is 70k and there's consequential adjustments for all other grades.
So for those thinking that lagos and edo states are already paying minimum wage of 70k, they had better think again as it's only Grade1 level 1 that could have been said to be receiving their minimum wage.

I probably have no power, but at the end of the day, we got no choice.

We can't keep on doing resource dependency...because it is driving us into loans and more loans galore.

Forget about politics, forget about APC, PDP, LP, TINUBU, BUhari, GEJ , etc....we can't keep on like this. The economy needs fundamental reform.
