Let me state it clearly here. Am tired of this tribal war in Nairaland. The bigger picture is that ALL NIGERIANS are going through a lot regardless of the part of the country you are coming from. The recent protest is an eye opener for those tribal e warriors. If we don't come together to fight this common enemy called bad government, it will continue to deal with everybody as usual. Take a look around you and see what suffering be like. Then coming to this divide and rule strategy playing out in Southern NIGERIA, I don't have much to say because the people whose lands and cultures are divided into different states just for political reasons are there fighting and arguing amongst themselves while the government and especially the northern politicians are the ones sharing and reaping the natural deposits in their lands.

There are problems on ground. Obasanjo met $5.5 billion in reserve in May 1999 with huge debts. He left estimated $60 billion in reserve and other investments. He paid debts otherwise the total money would have been around $72 billions or $75 billions. Yaradua Jonathan government came, sold oil up to $130 per barrel and output of around 2 million barrel per day. Jonathan government did not save ONE KOBO and borrowed heavily. They spent the money Obasanjo saved. No major project in South West apart from road coming from South South which passed Ore and stopped long way before Ijebu Ode. This time, Ijebu Ode (J3) to Lagos road was nightmare, very chaotic. You spent Shorter time from Portharcourt or Onitsha to Ore than Ijebu Ode (J3) to Lagos, in fact you can sleep on the road. Nobody asked the government why the Project did not start from Lagos or from Sagamu. Now, they are questioning the rationale behind Lagos Calabar highway starting from Lagos.

They looted estimated $100 billion and empowered their kinsmen businesses worldwide. They acquired properties in Lagos and Abuja. What saddened my heart is that South South people never benefitted from that government apart from few people. They handed over $25 billion to Buhari, the key economic team members travelled out of Nigeria before Jonathan handed over government.

Jonathan in a national network presidential broadcast before handing over said nobody should probe him except they start from Tafawa Balewa (1960).

They assumed Jonathan government looted and favoured IBOs, Buhari came and favoured Fulani / North, so Tinubu is coming to favor the Yorubas and they are apprehensive. They are fighting the Yorubas spiritually and with blackmail and propaganda. They hijacked social media to carry out their agenda and suspend, ban and frustrate Yorubas. Some Default Apps on some of their franchise phones are mainly for propaganda. Yet Yorubas don't know.

If great crisis should happen in South West, those Yoruba Lawyers claiming human rights lawyers would be the first victims.

They are simply afraid of being marginalized alongside Igbos. Had it been that Igbos are ruling NIGERIA, you will see them aligning with Igbos. People like Rotimi Amechi, Asari Dokubo and others: Anytime they seek for support from the south Easterners,they will remind you that they are Igbo, but when the going gets tough, they will run away. None of them want to offend the government of the day. And that is exactly what the government especially northern politicians want. Now who are the majority in the ownership of oil Wells in the South South. Your guess is as good as mine

Coming back to your posting above, if you are traveling by road to Abuja, if you passed through Ekiti you will see those towns, glorified villages apart from part of Lokoja. In Kwara, it is almost the same apart few places. There is a Retired General that was a governor, he was anti Obasanjo with the late Awoniyi. Dino is one of them. They have Identity problem. In my University days, they don't attend Odua Students Association meeting. They said they are Northerners.

We were told Awolowo fought against putting them in Northern part. Awolowo said they should not be separated from their South West people.

Coming to Ooni now means nothing . Ooni cannot do anything. The Native Accra people of Ghana also sent their ruler to Ooni to identify their roots to Ife. It is just a reminder for historical purposes. That is the way I see it.

What concerns me What they want to be considered as. That's their problem.
As you can see, we are not begging anyone to be called Yoruba, they are the ones coming to us.
You on the other hand are trying to force people to be called igbos 3ven when they say that rhey are not.
Anyone that says he or she is not Yoruba doesn't bother us one bit. We are ok with what we have. We are not begging or trying to force anyone to be Yoruba. That's the difference.
