The first reasonable governor of anambra! I have said it many times,if obi has half of soludos achievement as a governor, his chance of coming second in the last election will be high! But na so so lamba! Imaginary project! Propaganda’s! Revenge na him trail him tenure!
If not for the Supreme-Court Judgement,, Soludo was not preparing for this..

If not that there is a deadline for the Implementation of the Supreme-Court Judgement to start,, Soludo was not actually ready to conduct the LG-Elections..

So,, thank Supreme-Court and also thank Tinubu for this one too..
BUT NOT SOLUDO.

Let me just count how many people who actually mentioned “Obi” in their comments..

AntiChristian:
I hear Obi no do LG elections for 6/7 years of his tenure as he no trust anyone!

Anambra is coming up!
Image123:
Thanks to Mr. President. Many of these states would never hold LG elections. Now that the threat of no money from FG is there, they are waking up. Et tu Soludo?

i'm just wondering how many people from other tribes can contest in this elections. Like can someone from Ebonyi or Cross Rivers or Kaduna become a LG chairman in Anambra? Is it a taboo? Will it be strongly resisted?
i understand that followers of Obi and Oby from Anambra are cool with anyone governing the South West and other regions. But i noticed that they frowned on a foreigner's merited input in the anthem. So i wonder loudly what side of hypocrisy they would take in this. cheesy
Obyangel:
See you, see madness untop of Obi's matter.

Rest Omo ale
Tjra:
Anambra is back on the map.

Professor Soludo is doing his best to right all the wrongs of Obi's administration.

Obiano tried but his best just wasn't good enough.

The irony of this, a man who was once a Governor of this state, who didn't conduct LG elections during his 8 years tenure, is now trying to famz Supreme Court Judgement on local government autonomy..

Governors don wake-up to do the needful.

APGA will win 94% of the seats, and LP will get the remaining 6%.

Anambrians are great people ❤️🌹
APGA may even win 100%...

Unless miracle happens.
Then it will come down to 99%..

You are very correct..

Getting all these Smaller Elections Right will make more people to start their Politics and the Political Journey from the very grassroots..

He who did well at the Local Level will be rest assured to get the support of his people when he climbs higher..

BUT FIRST, WE NEED TO GET THESE SMALLER ELECTIONS RIGHT.

The first round of elections following the Supreme Court judgment will be like petrol used to wash a carburetor. We can't expect too much from this round, but the structural change over time will be good.
We hope for the best.
I pray it won't take too much long time before we get things right.

The constitution states that there should be 90 days notice before election.
Soludo should try and do things right.
Yess...
The Notice is too short.
And if taken-up legally, it is enough to render the LG-Elections “Null-and-Void”.

Local Government election in Nigeria is nothing to write home about. Election that only one party will win all the local government.
This might be the current reality.
But it is going to change very soon..

The only state in my own opinion that conducted a credible LG election in the past is Kaduna state during the tenure of governor El-Rufai. They did electronic voting and some opposition parties won in some LG.
But the rest of the LG elections are just mere academic exercise where results are written and the acclaimed winners are announced to the public.

we are getting there gradually. At least local government chairmen, once elected, will have no choice but to live in the community where the voters will have easy access to him as well as the councillor of wards. Is that not beautiful

BluntCrazeMan:
In a land filled with capable people, where there are many people available on ground and waiting to occupy any vacant positions,, it would be difficult for outsiders to fill the positions,, since the people on ground who are waiting are too many already..
This does not agree logically with any known statistics. There are more people in the North and in the South West of Nigeria than in the South East. It clearly is not a case of too many people on ground already. If we talk about population density also, no state comes near Lagos state in Nigeria. Your excuse here is void and invalid.

My people used to tell this parable....
(I will tell it in English here,, no need for telling and translating..)

“In a town where there are no many bulls, the rams are always regarded as the strong animals in such a town”.

This means that, where there are bulls, the bulls do the strong things which the people see,, and nobody notices the rams any longer - even when they do their strong things - because the bulls have occupied the position for them. But where there are no bulls, the rams become the strong ones available for the people to see.

Think about this..
And know why it was possible for people from other places to easily CONTEST in the first place,, AND EVEN GO AHEAD TO WIN..
Lolz, i did not imagine that i would actually hear a literal cock and bull, or ram and bull story today. Quite the clown you must be. Let me ask you gently again. Can someone from Ebonyi or Cross Rivers or Kaduna become a LG chairman in Anambra? Is it a taboo? Will it be strongly resisted? What makes everyone from Ebonyi rams and everyone from Anambra bulls by your joke of a parable? People from Enugu don't think very well of people from Anambra. So who determines the bulls and the rams? Your hypocrisy has really blinded you, you think spewing up laughable tales will cover it. Do you remember or hear about what Sir Ahmadu Bello said then about the Igbos some decades ago? Thankfully, it's on youtube for your information. While i don't totally buy/agree with him about all Igbos, from my little experience. i can't but say that he's very right with every single supporter of Obi and Oby ideology (a mask of the ipob).

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JTIPLuMHMkI

You're really not being liberal or wise or “accommodating” actually.
You guys don't just have the real bulls within yourselves, and thus, rams are making themselves available to do the work of bulls, pending the time the bulls start to show up.
Again, Ahmadu Bello was right long ago. The North was liberal and accomodating, but there was a different 'bull' agenda from their visitors. Same thing seems to be playing out in the South West and even other parts of the world where we have Obi ipob apologists. Even where their names are Gbadebolike, they have the coverging point of Obi ipob mindset. A mindset of hypocrisy, where you want to do things in other places that you vehemently refuse others to do in your own place.
