Wikileaks & Forbes:Military & Civilians Leaders Responsible For Dangote Wealth through exclusive import licences in sugar, cement and rice in 80's and 90's.
$500,000 in the 80s/90s is approximately $2,000,000 in today's money. Wow! To have that kind of seed money back then, you too could have pretty much build anything shocked shocked shocked shocked

No.
Much bigger wealth have been wasted by bozos with large capital.
Capital is not the only factor of production.
There is also business brain and management skills which are more important.

Monopoly from IBB, Abacha, OBJ can turn even an Okada to one of the richest men in Africa most populous country.

which Monopoly from ibb and abacha, did Arthur eze, alakija, otedola, the ibru family and co not make their wealth in the military regimes. I didn't even know dangote in abacha regime. It was from obj we started hearing dangote.

There was a time otedola was the sole importer of diesel under obj administration, owner of aa rano became the sole importer of diesel under buhari administration, will you say they didn't operate on Monopoly in the sector.....

Monopoly in certain industries and oil blocks turned many to overnight billionaires from a corrupt patronage and distribution system.

it is like that and it will still be like that.....I hate it when people single out dangote when there are other elites that enjoy Monopoly and government support.

Some times people need to know the billionaires now made mad money during the military regimes and even dangote was not a billionaire then. I lived through abacha time and dangote was not even a billionaire.

If my father had followed the path then he would have been a billionaire because of the access in the military regimes. It is easy to make overnight money then than now.

It is easier now then under military to become an overnight billionaire. Under the military only a select few like IBB hairdresser Alakija, IBB boy Adenuga,IBB and Abacha boy Dangote had access to all the wealth. Now it is free for all looting at local, state, federal and judicial level.

it is easier in the military regime than a civilian government,it was easy to get oil well then, very easy as long as you have access. Nor be military regime I know in Nigeria!!

That is because all the valuable oil wells have been shared among the military generals, their fronts. The civilian regimes starting from 1999 had few valuable oil blocs to corner to themselves.

It is easier to loot in civilian government. You can collect bribe like Ganduje and move around with bullion vans in broad daylight in Lagos with your loot.

The Lagos boys will not bow to the monopolist propped up by previous military dictators and civilian leaders.

All the billionaires owe their wealth to military and civilian leaders either through getting import waivers and monopoly and granting of oil blocks.
