cool
They are against drinking beer, but most of them drink on hiding.

These same people that destroys alcohol, are pedophiles marrying 9yr old children in the north.

Misplaced priority.

#useless bunch

If their religion does not permit it, then so be it. We must not impose our culture on other people.

Government should just ensure FIRS segment taxes on alcohol separately and get them distributed only to states that permits consumption of such products.

Simple!
Your position is not applicable to today's world.

Religion should be practiced without interfering with the lives of others.

If your religion does not permit anything, don't do it, but why force others to follow you in the ways of your religion?

Nigeria is not an Islamic country.

I don't take alcohol or smoke or do any of those stuff....but I cannot begin to attack others who do these...best I can do is to advise them.

It's hypocritical.

Why should they wait for the FIRS to segment VAT from alcoholic beverages? If they meant business from the beginning, they should have written the government to stop sending them proceeds from alcohol trades. This is the sane thing to do...but nope, them no do am.

I really don't understand the breaking of beer bottles part... Is it a state law forbidding the sales of alcoholic drink? Does that mean EVERY BODY in the state is a Muslim?

If it's your religion, then leave those that are not your religious members to drink what they want to drink na... That you don't eat meat does not mean you destroy all abattoirs

On the other hand, if it's a state rule forbidding the sales of alcohol in the state, then, as much as the state erred in creating such rules, until a higher court abolishes the rule, those destroying the alcoholic drinks are right, because they are backed by law

Not really. Reasonable number of Northern muslims don't take alcohol. Though few, very few of them secretly do.
Few that you're aware of. The ones you're not aware of do it in kettles

Reasonable number don't but they keep sending truck loads of bottles to that place, what does it tells you?
Oh I see, they prefer hard drugs to drinking alcohol.

Have you ever heard about separation of state from religion? 🤷‍♂️
This nonsense of "respecting" religious beliefs.

Let's be clear: if someone's religion prohibits them from consuming alcohol, that's their personal choice. But to say that the government should segregate tax distribution based on religious permissions is an overreach. Why would you want to impose religious doctrine on secular institutions?

So will you also demand that the government withhold taxes from states that permit gambling, given that some religions frown upon it? Or maybe should restrict access to certain medical procedures based on religious objections? Think!

If some individuals choose to abstain from alcohol due to personal beliefs, so be it. But to impose on everyone makes no sense.
Is this a Nigeria thing? Read it's a secular country.

I think the Hisbah should confiscate and fine the culprits heavily.

To destroy such huge number of bottles itself costs a lot of money so this argument is weak since they are equally expending resources to destroy the bottles.

In 2022, the Kano Hisbah destroyed over three million bottles of assorted beer as part of the state’s efforts “to address drug abuse, intoxication, and other social vices”.

It is blatant hypocrisy for you to prefer smoking to taking beer honestly when the former is even more injurious to your health.
In southern Nigeria we see smokers as outcasts while drunkards are celebrated, but in the north they elevate and celebrate smokers while drunkards are seen as outcasts. What a confusing nation.

The idea is, they have gone beyond not drinking alcohol to destroying alcoholic beverages significantly jeopardizing the trade of alcohol. This action disqualifies them from partaking of the proceeds of any form of alcohol business.

But, if they were very serious about their religious stand, they would have written the government years ago requesting that they shouldn't be sent VAT from alcohol...this wouldn't have been the case if they had stopped at refusing to drink alcohol because of their religion. But no, these guys have been DESTROYING alcoholic beverages for years and this act of theirs has cost society billions of naira!

See the difference?

I'm sure you meant - so this argument is strong because in addition to the cost of the alcohol and bottles destroyed, they are incurring additional economic waste by expending resources on the destruction.

Misplaced litigation. Sue the FAAC to stop Allocating those resources to those states. Lets see if the states and FAAC will appeal the judgement. This judgement is clearly not enforceable
