I recently had an argument with a friend about something like this.

It's one thing to make fun of something I said, but it's another thing entirely to make fun of me as a person. In logic, it's a fallacy called "ad hominem" which means "attacking the man".

Basically, if I told you "your argument sounds stupid", that's actually not an insult. It's a judgement of your argument, or whatever you said, albeit harsh. It doesn't mean YOU are stupid.

So I'd say Geezeem is actually right with her assessment.

EDIT: So after going back to read the exchange, I can see that Clement's comment practically implied that Aguwanyi had gutter behavior. On that note, I take back what I said and apologize. I'm ashamed of myself.

However, my argument about the rules of ad hominem still stand, even though they don't apply here anymore.
