Just imagine. Ogun State is notorious for not honouring contracts signed with investors. Little wonder despite its huge potentials, the state is a total mess.
Now it's clear, despite its proximity to Lagos only few investors are going to Ogun State

That's why there was a rumour he worked for BAT even though he was with obi ,he denied it .
Normal, normal he will deny it.

lexylaw40:
The governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Oyo State, Tawfiq Akinwale, on Wednesday stated that the “President-elect” Bola Tinubu asked popular economist, Prof Pat Utomi to step down for Peter Obi in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.

Akinwale made this revelation while he appeared as a guest on a radio programme on 101.7 YES FM, Ibadan, Oyo State, while alleging that Obi received campaign funds from Utomi, whom he described as Tinubu's "son."

The LP aspirant, who spoke in Yoruba language, said "In the buildup to the 2023 elections, Obi who had purchased the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), suddenly announced his exit from the party.

"Initially, Pat Utomi had secured the LP's presidential ticket, but when Peter Obi said he resigned from the PDP and joined the LP. Bola Tinubu, a master political strategist, quickly told Utomi, that everyone knows to be his son to step down for Obi.

"The “president-elect” saw in Obi's presidential bid, a good chance to reduce the winning chances of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

"What Peter Obi didn't know is much more that what he knows, he started collecting campaign funds from Utomi, while Tinubu was giving the money to Utomi.

"This went on until Obi's presidential campaign got to a stage it went beyond target. Obi was used without him knowing," Akinwale said after announcing his departure from the party.

Obi defected to the LP after resigning his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and also withdrawing from the presidential race under the party.

The former governor consequently joined the race for the party’s presidential ticket, while Professor Pat Utomi, in June 2022 stepped down for him to emerge as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, unopposed in Asaba, Delta State.

Are the masses who allow them into office even more incompetent and dumb?
Or they are less incompetent and dumb huh

Wasn't Ogun State Dangote's preferred site for his refinery but the government of the day muddled up the proposed plan.

To be fair to the Gov, he need not be versed in these things but what kind of commissioners and special advisers did he surround himself with. Too bad
It was Amosun that messed up dangote refinery.Amosun was a very proud governor because of his closeness to Buhari.

This is one of the main reasons jobs are not being created in the country. Regardless of the government in power, it is all about corruption and what will benefit the incumbent.

Any prior contracts and agreements can be canceled at the whim of the present official or politician. See landmark beach.

Even Nigerians in the diaspora do not feel confident to invest in their own country, how can you expect foreigners to come and set up factories? All the governments of the past 50-plus years are mostly corrupt, wicked, and selfish.

Eventually, as the little infrastructure crumbles and new ones are NOT built the people will rise one day and challenge the crooked ruling elite.

Soon the national electrical grid will stop functioning and with petrol and diesel at #2,000 plus per litre, chaos will ensue.

Whenever a new administration comes in especially from a political opposition, you start hearing how
incompetent or evil the previous admin was.
While some of the allegations are true, a significant portion are to lay a groundwork for contract cancellation
and re-awarding.

That is one of the reasons foreigners are scared to invest in new areas of development.
They are not sure what the next admin will do.

Contracts are mostly cancelled to either spite a predecessor or re-award to a crony for kickbacks.
Unfortunately, there is no consequence for such malfeasance.
Amosun is next to the devil and if you followed my post consistently on this very wicked man, you'd concur. He won't put his hands in anything that wouldn't benefit him personally. Ogun state youths should just protest on his greedy act which led to dangote's relocation of his refinery site to lagos . That's a massive loss to the people of Ogun State.

Very bad time for Senator Ibikunle Amosun.

Regardless, a thorough and independent investigation is now absolutely necessary. Everyone involved must be invited for questioning by the EFCC and DSS. Anyone indicted must be prosecuted like FG did with the P&ID criminal case. For now, Senator Amosun is still presumed innocent.

Protest will be useless since he is no longer the governor.
Dangote ran from Ogun because Amosun demanded
some percentage of the land to be allocated for the refinery because
he knew they would appreciate later.

Even with what he did, he could still contest and win a senate seat if he
plays the party game right.

The real issue is that characters like him are the majority leaders in most parties.
They seek power just to benefit themselves and their friends at all cost.

Please be fair and just and don't try to manipulate the public.

I am not a fan of Peter Obi no a fan of BAT nor Atiku. My Question to you is:

Is it a crime if he supports Peter Obi? It is his fundamental Human right for God sake whom ever he chooses to support.

2. The topic is about bad Governance. And how He (Pat) lost his hard earned money in the investment.

You think investors will like to come to Nigeria and invest with the wicked attitude of some of NIGERIA 's governors?.

Pls be objective and don't derail the thread

Amosun revoked land given to a friend of his predecessor, Otunba Daniels, which he had turned into a thriving golf course. The man subsequently committed suicide

Has Pat Utomi, headed any government establishment before that will warrant him stealing government funds or are you out of your mind?
You mustn't cast aspersion on anyone, over what you don't know.

Utomi is just being childish! He should have waited for the real truth to come out before joining issues. Yes he may have lost a hundred million naira but that doesn't mean that Amosun did wrong. Let's wait for the Chinese government to comment on this before taking sides.

Well,it is now bouncing back on all the Governors, because of the action of one man and the State is in coup -de -sac!
It is equally wrong for Governors to be fighting the Federal Govt, just as Seyi Makinde is doing on the issue of Local Govt detachment from the State- as Autonomy, when it was the Supreme Court Judgement Pronouncement, whether the Money is COVID-19 Or World Bank Funds,it is all guaranteed by the Federal Govt.

Just imagine an elite crying wolf. What is d purpose of an agreement that was breached. Is it not to move on to the court to enforce your right to reliefs and damages. After he leaves the powerless court of public domain, he can proceed to the court of Amadihoha for relief. An elite trying to get justice through the back door.
