Multimodal Transport Integration: LAMATA, TfL visit LASWA

Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) and Transport for London (TfL) have jointly visited Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) to explore opportunities for enhancing multimodal connectivity in Lagos.

The delegation, including TfL experts Ben Johnson, Chi Kalu, and Chris Chinnock, embarked on a visit to the Ikorodu ferry terminal, using the newly launched Omibus boats from the Five Cowries terminal to gain firsthand experience of the city’s water-road transport integration.

Today marks the fourth day of this crucial phase.

LASWA presented the Omi Eko project, a comprehensive initiative to revitalize water transportation infrastructure and introduce electric vessels in the state.

The project aligns Lagos State Government endorsed Strategic Transport Masterplan (STMP), which LAMATA is implementing.

LASWA General Manager, Mr. Damilola Emmanuel expressed gratitude to all involved in the knowledge-sharing process and reaffirmed the agency's commitment to collaborating with LAMATA.

Nice one. Engr Dairo of Lamata in the early years used to work for TFL. Tinubu poached him from Transport for London and also poached Dr. Mobereola from UK department of Transport. I also see my inlaw - the Oga at the top at LASWA.
