Nigeria vs South Africa - UN, EU, AU and the African Leadership by critique99(op):
Going forward, we need to be clear regarding the hierarchy of the leading nations in Africa. This is important to avoid the illusion of a contest between the leading nations, which does more harm than good to the continent. And most importantly to guide international and multilateral organizations in making strategic leadership decisions for Africa.

There are 4 leading nations in Africa (G4) and they are ranked as follows:
1) Nigeria
2) Ethiopia
3) Algeria
4) South Africa

The above is the standard hierarchy, in the African context, which shows Ethiopia second to Nigeria. I have no time to explain this, but the reasons are clear. Ethiopia holds a historical, cultural, civilization, colonization, religious and military importance that is well known to the Black race, and in fact, that is the reason the AU headquarters is located in Ethiopia. It isn't an accident, there is a reason Addis Ababa holds the AU headquarters.

At the third place is Algeria and Egypt, both of whom should be equal at the third position, but the Egyptians have a historic problem, which tilts the position to Algeria. No prejudice to Egypt and Morocco, but Algeria is seen as the preferred nation in North Africa, for reasons I don't want to expatiate. Egypt and Morocco aren't less than Algeria; but there is only one slot in North Africa, and Algeria is mostly favoured.

The problem we have today is that South Africa sees itself or rather wants to present itself as a contender for No.1 in Africa. The delusion is so large that it pervades the leadership and citizenry of that nation. And this has happened because Western nations equated South Africa's economy for leadership. No. It doesn't work like that in Africa. In the West, biggest economy is equal to regional leader. That is for the West. In Africa, it doesn't work like that, and Africa has always had problems when Western systems are imported to Africa.

In Africa, South Africa's delusion of No.1 is causing problems, infact their citizens are all over social media looking for ways to compare, challenge and insult Nigeria. The Ethipoians and Algerians are not doing this. And thanks to the West for making South Africa seem bigger than they really are.

We call on international and multilateral organizations to respect the hierarchy of African leadership in everything they do. As recently as 1990s, South Africans were still being colonized and battered by whites; today, they want to compete for leadership of a continent that predates them. South Africa is one of the LAST African countries to be free from colonization; but today they want to lead the continent that has Ethiopia which was never colonized. This South African delusion has been caused by Western nations touting her as leading economy. Leading economy is not the same is continent leader. Africa's culture is different from the Western culture.

In Africa, South Africa is the Fourth in leadership ranking. Nigeria is first. The South Africans don't come anywhere to First, let alone dream of it. We want people to reorientate themselves, and respect the hierarchy as Africans have it. If Nigeria, for any reason, is unable to lead the Black race, then Ethiopia is next in line. The Ethiopians are very good with Nigerians and are confident in themselves, they have no need to challenge, compete with or insult Nigeria like the South Africans.

South African blacks can NOT lead the black race,, never, they cannot lead Kenyans, not Rwandans, not Congolese, not Ghanaians, not Liberiana, not Namibians, not Botswanans, not Sudanese, not Somalians, not Guineans, not Malians, etc. South Africans can NEVER lead any other black nation. South Africans must stop their delusion. African leadership is beyond them for eternity. Nature made it so.

Kenya is even ahead of South Africa. Whom do South African blacks want to lead in Africa and the rest of the world? Ghana? Kenya? DRC Congo? Maybe they can lead countries in South Africa. Dats all.

Correct. Even Rwanda would come first b4 South Africa. Many years ago, in the African militaries thread on this same Nairaland, I always told South Africans that they could not defeat Zimbabwe in a war. And I still hold that view. If South Africa and Zimbabwe fight one to one, the Zimbabweans would maul them in no time. Am sure of this. Yet, they want to claim No.1 in Africa.

You can host the world, doesn't change the fact that you are 4th in Africa. In fact, if you don't behave, we would move you down to 5th.

Zulus were the only African tribe to have killed a thousand of British white troops. There is documented evidence.

Do not underestimate the south Africans.

Nigeria is no were in African leadership.
Nigeria is a failed state ,filled with stupid over bloated tribes.

Nigeria can only rise if it's consistently ruled by minority tribes only

I think it's time to Nigeria to stand up and assert herself as the leading Nation in this continent, cus sacrifices we've made for Africa no African country has ever done it not even our 1994 entrant.
Imagine a nation like south Africa that the rest of Africa had to bail out from perpetual domination few years ago now want to lead their grand fathers. You won't blame them, when a snake lose the ability to strike even little children will use it to tie firewoods.

The problem with South African is they are delusional, 70% of them don't know Africa's history pre 1994, so they don't understand where we have been coming from as a continent and our pan African struggles, reason why they talk down on Pan Africanism.

They are shortsighted and ignorant, they can't smell the coffee. Just like it was pre 1994 there's an attempt to further isolate them from the rest of Africa especially Nigerians for future domination. The whites are definitely coming back to power before the next 30 years and this time the rest of continent won't lift a finger for them.

Nigeria is destroying pan Africanism with its failed nation. How can a crippling entity with no standards and power lead Africa,Nigeria is like a dead beat father that wants to still be regarded as the head of the home.

Nigeria is dead beat,it cannot lead the African continent.

The Igbo,Yoruba and Hausa tribes cannot produce a strong and capable nation, unless a minority tribe leads them

I disagree with the bolded... Nigeria is like huge ship sailing across heavy tides, tho the waves and tides may swerve it left and right but it's making progress. They are lot of challenges we've faced as a people and as a nation due to positions we've taken on many occasions for sake of the continent, but we've still manage to forge ahead. Nigeria is massive, more massive than you can imagine.

Lastly, Nigeria isn't about only the leaders but the people.

The Nigerian people that are running away to slave for whiteman,is who you want to lead africa?nigerian people are not doing anything great, Nigeria also cannot be great without its leaders.

Nigeria is hardly progressing, but roving round in one spot, bordering on retrogression.

For over 60 years Nigeria has no world acclaimed achievements.

Nigeria should lead itself before it attempts to even lead west Africa not to talk of Africa, the grand delusion of Nigerians is just perplexing.

Because they produce like rabbits they think they deserve to lead.

Shior..
