Please can you help with the PCO number for Alausa passport office. I did biometrics (I renewed my passport through self-help) since March. Collection date was in May. I have been going there since and they said my passport is not ready. Been to their servicom desk and I submitted all my documents again and it is not ready. Thanks

1992 to 2024 is 32 years. You are older than 18 years. Therefore, the National Population Commission will not issue you a birth certificate. Instead of a birth certificate, you will be given an Attestation of Birth.

Please, I want to apply for fresh international passport. I am thinking of going the DIY route. Is it advisable to to do it myself and how long does it take as against outsourcing it. Please help I need your input.

I applied for a passport online on May 30.
I uploaded my NIN, birth certificate, and photograph on the website. I selected Uyo office as my preferred office for capturing and collection.
I paid a sum of #36400 online with my debit card.
Then I printed out the application slip and payment slip.
I was given a date in June as appointment for capturing and biometrics
I went to NIS office in Uyo on the date and was attended to early. The official snapped my picture and I also did thumbprint. He gave me a passport tracking number and told me to expect an email from the office.
I didn't receive an email after six weeks so I went back to the office to check and passport was ready for collection.
It was a smooth D.I.Y process

Birth Certificate (certificate issued by the National Population Commission shall be required from applicants whose date of birth is with effect from Dec 1992) or Age Declaration (if you were born before 1992) attached with one passport-sized photograph and duly endorsed by a Commissioner for Oaths.

Acknowledgement Slip and Evidence of Payment.

News is out today: The 32-page passport booklet with a 5-year validity will now cost N50,000, up from N35,000, while the 64-page booklet with a 10-year validity will cost N100,000, previously N70,000.

Please, for correction of DOB and renewal of the passport as well, should I go straight to Abuja, or it can be done in Lagos without being redirected to go to Abuja. Thanks

It's due to temporary technical glitch.

I’ve been through this process, and yeah, the cost is usually between 25k and 30k for an international passport in Nigeria. You’ll need a bunch of stuff like your birth certificate, proof of age, a guarantor, a local government form, and a few passport photos. I’d suggest double-checking everything directly with the official passport office or their website. Be careful with anyone asking for extra cash or urgent payments.

You can't be too careful when dealing with Nigeria Immigration Service. Therefore, I would suggest that you attach to your passport application form both copies of your NIN, which is a national identity card and a letter of identification from your local government or state of origin certificate (just) to be on the safe side.

Is birth certificate not proof of age?

And the guarantor, I thought they said it’s no longer necessary. Please verify before posting information.

I read that a guarantor's form is no longer required for the application process. How true is that please?
